Paper jam in HP printer

These printers have a problem with the bushings on the fuser, as they wear the gear drive moves away and you nolonger have drive to the fuser. HP has a kit, you replace the fuser and the gear driving it. At the same time, you should also replace the feed roller, both are simple to do with a phillips screw driver.

49.2f9d error.What does it mean?

Hello, the dreaded 49.2F9D Error Turn Power On/Off.

There have been many reports of this error in the HP P3005 Laser Printer. This is a generic fatal error, the root cause is undetermined. It could be related to an application "corrupt data" or faulty printer firmware, or the formatter board, or reports of the fuser causing this problem. The first step in troubleshooting this error is to isolate the printer from any computer source - disconnect from any I/O ports, Network/USB etc... Does the error still report? If NO then an application may be causing, try to isolate the file causing the problem. If YES then Firmware/Formatter/Fuser is likely the problem. A new firmware file can be found here.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=ca&prodNameId=1846102&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=1846088&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=54

Does the error persist after the firmware application? NO problem solved YES? Formatter/Fuser.

Problem with paper feed - all sheets come out

Sounds like your fuser is bad, ink is not adhering to the paper and building up on a roller that is causing the paper to wrinkle.

My hp laserjet 3005n keeps

Hello, In this situation you really have 2 -3 choices. The first being just to live with it, power cycle the printer when required. The other choices are to make sure the printers software of Firmware is up to date. The last choice would be to replace the formatter board. The firmware file is easily uploaded to the printer, the file can be downloaded from the following location http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=ca&prodNameId=1846102&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=1846088&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=54

Download the file and unzip to a known location on your compter, be sure to read the "README" file as it contains the instruction to upgrade the firmware. If after upgrading the firmware and the problem remains, you could purchase a new formatter from www.partsnow.com or any Hewlett Packard parts distributor. I wish you luck and I hope this has been benificial to you!!!

Machine locks-up

Hello, If the Hewlett Packard P3005 "freezes" or "locks up" the most likely solution is to replace the formatter board. This particular printer has had many problems with the fomatter. The formatter is no that hard to change by the DYI. A good source for the part would be www.partsnow.com they are the largest supplier of Laser Printer parts in North America. If you do decide to repair yourself make sure when ordering you supply the product number from the printer, check the Serial Number sticker on the printer. Good luck and I hope this has helped.

I have a HP laserjet P3005d, it keeps jamming as

The problem is slipping feed roller, the paper is getting to the fuser too late.

remove the paper tray and look on the underside front edge of the printer for the feed roller (black rubber) clean it with a damp cloth rubbing it sideways not back and forth. You can move it to the left to dislodge it to clean. If it is worn out (more than 90,000 pages printed), you will need to replace it.

WWW.partsnow.com is a good vendor for these small parts.

This is a common problem.

You need to replace the "fuser assembly" and make sure when you order it, that it comes with the extra gear. The instructions are simple. You will replace the fuser and the small gear located on the left side as you look in from the back.

If you are in the USA, or Canada, www.partsnow.com is a good place to buy this kit, and they warrantee the fuser for 6 months. The OEM HP Fuser is warranted for 30 days, and may not come with the gear.

Our printer is not picking up the paper from the

Hi there !

Is your printer had jammed before and it stop printing in the middle of printing? For some reasons, paper can jammed due to printing interruptions, printer turn off, improper loading or feeding of paper, roller feeder had problem and others.

If jams before and paper have let inside the printer, please do the following first:

1. Check th paper tray, see inside if the paper is jammed inside that compartment. If there is paper jammed, remove, turn off your printer and turn on. This will solve your problem.

2. If not, open the printer cartridge door, remove the toner cartridge and look for paper jammed inside. If these is paper inside, remove it, turn off the printer and turn it on.

3. If you cannot see the paper jammed inside, the paper maybe inside the heating area. To remove paper, just turn off your printer and turn it on to roll over the paper jammed inside of it.

4. If the printer is blinking and saying there is paper jammed. You have to check the cartridge toner by opening the cartridge door, remove the cartridge and return it back but be sure it is well firmly fitted.

If following the 4 diagnostic procedure and you cannot locate the jammed paper, the problem lies on the toner cartridge itself. When toner cartridge is not rolling over, it will stop feeding the paper and it will cause printer to jammed.

To diagnose the problem, put old printer cartridge and if no toner power, just shake it well and I am sure there is still small amount of powder inside it and if it prints, the toner cartridge you purchase is defective. Reason, factory defect or improper refilling and part is not working well.

I hope it is helpful and thank you for using FixYa !
