There is no unlock code, you need to jailbreak and unlock it using "hacked" software available on the internet. Google would point you in the right direction.
No incoming sounds
check whether the phone is in silent mode.adjust the volume of incoming sounds by going into the sound settings and selecting incoming calls.

Press the power button on top, and select '3' Key Lock.

Try to remove the one you have installed, the bluetooth handset, and then try to make a call. If you are able to make a call. Perhaps, the device you have installed is not compatible with your Imate.
Imate SP5 sim/phone problem
Even though I have no tech experience, I figured it must be a setting problem between the phone and my simcard but could not work out how to resolve it. I eventually solved the problem myself by doing a factory default reset. Lost a couple of downloads but so what ! It works now and I'm happy!
