On the front bottom of the TV there is a little round eye. If that eye gets blocked, it'll reduce the range of the remote. Make sure there's nothing in front of it. Other than that, the sensor behind the eye could be bad.

hi try another tv if you have one this will tell you if there is signal if it works, i'd reconnect your samsung go into the menu select rest then once this is done go into menu again select auto tune hope it helps regards shaun

Either its back light inverter board, or, the LVDS cable has the fault. First try by re-seat the LVDS cable, and check. Thus you can make sure about the fault. Sounds like the back light is going out or a connection to the back light has loosened of the years

on the tv or remote please... if on tv child lock could be on if remote and tv could be the pbc board for the inferred . also using you phone camera press them buttons on the remote you should see a light come on the remote through your camera, if not the remote may be damaged so check other buttons.
