Model VR-4625 wont pick up any channels with auto scan

Look to see correctly hooked and that in the menu the set is now not set to catv or cable but to air/antenna. If no antenna connected to set or if just indoor antenna you may not pickup on auto search--try to direct enter a known channel with the remote--if you get one you can in the set menu manually add to the memory the set has.

What's the make and model of the universal remote? A common brand is one4all, http://www.oneforall.com/

If you find the model of the remote, you can find the book and the code for your TV.

What is the universal remote code for a

You can try code 0463, although its a long shot.

Alternativley....this may work (a manual code search):

Turn on the device that you want to control. (TV)
Then press that device key on your remote once and release (the TV key as an example).
Press device key a second time and hold for at least 3 seconds, and release.

Hopefully, the device key is now flashing. Next, start pressing channel up repeatedly until the device you are trying to control turns off. When this happens, press the device key, this will lock in the code.

Note: When the device shuts off, you may have hit channel up before your brain realizes what happened (i.e. you will be one code off...so hit channel down and then the device key if you think you went to far)

Hope this helps!

Need another name this could be under to program

Hi,

Westinghouse don't actually make TVs, they are just 'badged'. Westinghouse is part of the Electrolux group, so the obvious answer would be another Electrolux company that DO make TVs. The only one I can find is Philco, however I happen to know that some or all Philco units are made by Funai Corp. of China. The following are all TV brands made by Funai:

Funai
Magnavox
Symphonic
Sylvania
Superscan
Element
Philco
Durabrand
Trutech
Emerson
ESA

Try Philco codes first (if there are any) then work through the above list. It's likely that your TV is made by Funai and has the same components as one of the above brands. Please note that not all universal remotes will work with all TVs and universal remotes often don't work when the TV is newer than the remote.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
BElectric

I knocked my westinghouse ltv-19w6 off my dresser

Hello
You have to open it up to rectify this fault ofcourse. Due to hard hits, microswitches inside it may got damaged. Microswithces are the contact points when you operate the tV by the front panel. they can be located just behind the front panel switches, and inside your tV. To access it you have to open your TVs back cover. It is easy to locate these, and these will be small square shaped switches, directly soldered to a printed circuit board, and fitted on the front panel side of your tv. If anyome of these got strucked due to any hard hit, the whole front panel controls won't work; including remote sensor. You can also see the infrared remote sensor on that board. This is a three terminal part, usually look black in colour, there is a number laser printed printed on its side, and should be noted when you go to buy a new one. Replace the all microswitches at the same time. They are easly available, and cheap also. Desolder one amoung them and keep it in hand as a sample when you go to buy them, because there are so many types, differ each other in diamension and pin confuguration. Note for any printed circuit board breack or crack happend due the fall. If so, just bridge the cracks with a nice piece of copper wire, or two or three twisted copper strands from a wire. That is enough if there is a cracked. Normally this printed circuit board cannot be available. So repair it, if it has crack on it. Just examine very keenly for crak, as these may be sometimes microscopic.

I need the remote control code for Westinghouse

If a generic brand remote doesn't list "Westinghouse," you're going to have to order a factory original. Went to Comcast site, scrolled down, and it said Westinghouse is........0463

Want to install exterior speakers

Go to menu, use ch. keys and click audio, use vol. keys to go to sub-menu, when sub-menu appears, use ch. key and click down to the tv speakers under heading "speakers", turn them "off". On left side in the back are the audio plugins, the top two under the s-video plugin, red on top, white next down are the two audio speakers rca jacks. Plug your external speakers, like the ones that you'd buy for a computer, in those two. The manual does not say if you plug speakers in these jacks the tv's builtin speakers will be cut off, but this tv I got was being used for a computer monitor and the tv's speakers were turned off from the menu, so I guess plugging in external speakers does not turn off the tv's speakers and would interfer with the external speakers. I suppose you could try it both ways and see, leave the tv's speakers "on" and plug in externals and see if they are turned off automatically.

Cable picture is fine. no sound.

Hello,
First check that any muting control is not activated. This might be a button on the remote or set itself. If you have a headphone jack, it may have dirty contacts as plugging in a headphone usually mutes the speaker.
If the set is mono or only one channel of a stereo set is out, then check for bad connections to the loudspeaker. Test the loudspeaker by disconnecting one of the wires (with the power off!) and measuring its resistance with an ohmmeter (it should be less than 100 ohms - probably less than 8 ohms). Or momentarily touch a 1.5 volt battery to the speaker terminals - you should get a click or pop from the speaker.
Next, trace back from the speaker output terminals to the circuit board and look for bad solder connections or a loose or dirty connector.
If these tests do not reveal anything, you probably need a scope (or audio signal tracer) and schematic. Or at least the part number off of the chip. Is the final amp a chip also or just a transistor? Have you tested the transistor? If there is little or no buzz from the speaker, that would indicate a problem fairly near the output. If the tuner/if were bad, I would expect some noise/humm pickup from the low level audio stages. Get the part number off of the chip. If it is in a socket, check the contacts for corrosion or looseness. Hope this helps...

Has sound no picture

Hello,

This type of problem is usually caused by a failure of the power supply that drives the backlight. Check out this article on our web site: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/repairing-the-westinghouse-lcm-20v5/ The LCM-20V5 model uses a power board that is the same model as yours. The the parts mentioned in the article and see .if yours are bulging, if so replace them and you should be back running again.

I hope this helps, if do please rate our solution.

Power on problem

You need to take this unit in for servicing,it has a failing power supply board, it may just need a replacement of some capacitors and voltage regulators. You should not use the unit when it has this type of problem. The reason is, it might power surge and take out a lot components when it does. You can go to the westingtonhouse customer support website at www.westingtondigital.com and go to the customer support section for help with your problem. You can also call customer support at this telephone number 1-800-701-0680. give them the model number of you television and they should be able to tell you where you can get it serviced. I hope this information has helped you with your problem.
