My 50 Samsung Plasma TV lost picture, but still had sound. Replaced capacitor on Zsus and had Y-sus buffer up serviced. Still no picture and maybe a power problem. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Make sure the power board are producing the correct voltages = or - 10 %. Look for domed electrolytic capacitors too. You can get repair kits and complete boards from here: TV Parts Universal TV Stands DLP Chips ShopJimmy

I have a samsung hp-t5064 that show grainy picture with scanning horizontal lines. TV repairman came and looked around the back. Opened it up, replaced some boards, don't know which, I was not

You can also check for poor connections on ribbon cables etc. Socketed Chips etc. Modern TV's are more "Computer" than old fashioned TV. You could have memory problems, CPU or timing problems. Power supply problems. Did the problem occur overnight. Like On/Off... or has it gradually gotten worse. All of these things can be clues. Does a slap on the back cause any glitches or changes to picture. If so then it could be an indicator of a physical problem like a poor connection. Suggest getting a second tech's opinion before any replacement Good Luck

I have no picture but

Do you still have your old board,if you do put it back in and see if it does like the New Board.
In the mean time I need to do some checking on this model ,Samsung has some of these sets
that you have to replace 3 boards and On one model their is a 680uf 25v Capacitor that goes bad.
Have you looked all the boards over to make sure you have no swollen or vented on Top capacitors? Check your pico fuses also they will look like resistors but will be green or yellow.
1amp - 7amp pico fuses. The person who told you that the buffer boards where probably ok do they do TV Repair Daily? Or do Samsung warranty work? Ps it is possiable that you got a defective board just because they are new/rebuilt means nothing when it comes to repair, Ive had to ship a many of boards back due to being DOA dead on arrival? I paid $279.00 for a Deflection board that was No Good that really got me,Plus they losted my SSB board and that was another nightmare.

Sound but no picture!

Perhaps an easy fix. Remove the back of the flat screen. There will be a main circuit board visible. There will be several capacitors, cylinders with a cross hatch on the silver top. Do any of them look like they have a dimple created by expansion of the internal capacitor material over heating? If you see an expanded top...that's probably your problem. Get your solder gun out and replace that capacitor. You can order a new one off of Amazon. If yours is a 10 volt capacitor, consider replacing it with a 16 volt unit. Generally the electronics companies under design the size of these units. When you replace the capacitor take note of the silver band on the unit and where its placed in the two socket holes....there is a positive and negative hole placement.

No picture have sound hp

I have a samsung hp-t5064 with sound and no picture. I purchased a service manual and went through the check list of solving the problem. It tells you to remove 4 plugs from the SMPS board (cn810, cn809, cn808, cn807) and you should get dc voltages at test pin (Vs 207VDC) and test pin (Va 63VDC). If you do not get these voltages at these two pins you should replace the SMPS borad. My question is when all plugs are unpluged I get Vs 0VDC and Va 63VDC but when I start plugging in the plugs one by one nothing changes as far as voltages until I plug in the CN807 Main board and the voltages are at normal Vs207VDC and Va 63VDC. I am asuming the SMPS board is bad. Would I be correct?

My Samsung HPT5064 keeps shutting off. Please

I had a similar problem with my 42 in Philips LCD HDTV.

Here was the problem. My Power Supply Board had several bad capacitors. I opened my TV (warranty was expired of course) and found four bulged capacitors. Many electronics companies were sold capacitors that failed in 2-5 years instead of 10-20. The capacitors fail prematurely due to a lack of preservatives. Unfortunately, they were installed in all sorts of devices and cause a wide range of failure problems.

Here are some options for you.

1. Have it fixed by a professional

2. Open your TV and find PSB. Check for faulty caps. If you find some (bulged or leaking) bad caps replace the entire board.

3. Remove and then replace individual faulty caps. This takes some soldering skill.

Caps are inexpensive and if you can take care of it yourself it will save you hundreds.

I have a tip/tutorial on this site that may also help. It gives step by step instructions for replacing caps on PSB #715t2432-2. If this is your board you are in luck. It's called: Fixing the Philips Turns/shuts off on its own problem.

Hope this helps and Good luck.

My samsung plasma 50" model

Make sure all of the cables are very tight on it. The button may actually be faulty, believe it or not. This is common on the model you are speaking of. If the remote won't work either, it is most likely a short.

The screen wont display anything. tv repair guy

X Main usually causes the picture to be extremely dark, just barely visible. Its function is to erase the picture between frames and refresh the plasma cells. Just a stab at it here, but what you probably have is a bad Y main. It will cause a "No Picture" condition. You should check the fuse(s) on it to see if one of them is open. Don't forget to disconnect the Vs supply (White/Black 2 wire) connector before you check them. Don't bother trying to replace the fuse, it will just pop again. I hope this was useful, best wishes.

I have a samsung hp

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by overheating problems. X, Y sustain, buffer boards controls picture, fires the gas, and many others functions. When either of these boards goes bad common problems include negative image, no image, vertical or horizontal stripes on picture, turns on and than turns off, and many more. You’ll need to open the back off the TV and check for any swollen/bulged/leaky capacitors on these boards and replace whichever has gone bad. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when switched off. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

It sounds like the backlight is out. If you can see a faint image that changes then this is the case. You either need to send in for repair or replace. It can if you are lucky be a connection. You can try removing the video cable and try another source or cable.
