Hi,
Let me know model number of View Sonic tv to diagnose its problem.
Model number would be written on label pasted at rear of tv.
Apparently it seems power supply problem, most probably few electrolytic capacitors need to be replaced in power supply board.
Thanks.

You have a 3.5mm Audio Input jack for external audio in. ( Not Speakers) The Audio Output jack is for connecting that to a stereo system which is the best way to go. So, what you want to do is connect your xbox audio out which is probably a rca jack to the projector. I believe you will have to buy a y-adapter ( 3.5mm male > double rca fe-male) then use the standard rca audio cables. You don't plug speakers into that unit, I hope you haven't damaged the audio circuit. You might have a external audio switch within the menu of the projector to switch from internal to external audio source,,, look for that.

Viewsonic flat screen tv. That
No there are no fuses in that type of flat screen TV. If it will not power on at all then it sounds like a failed or at least failing power supply inside the TV.
Unfortunately this is a very difficult repair, and unless you are an
electrician I would not recommend attempting it. You will want to
contact a local TV repair person in your area if you are sure this is
out of warranty, more on that in a bit here. This is actually the
most common problem with this type of TV, I see it every day, it just
happens - sometimes with new TVs and sometimes it takes many years for
it to happen.
If you think it may
still be under warranty please contact the manufacturer to file an
RMA. If you happened to purchase the TV with a major credit card (not
a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free
extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please
contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they
will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the TV.
If
you want to attempt the repair yourself please let me know and I will
get you the part number and a place you can purchase it from for what
you need.
So sorry that I don't have better news but it is definitely a power issue internally.
Thanks
Tim

Please be more specific, did you mean does not turn off? if so, is this with the remote control ?
In such a case it is possible that the standby switch cirrcuit is faulty, the otptocoupler switching device may be faulty, the mP switching circuit may be faulty.

I see, do you have the Model number of the screen? Is it a Viewsonic? That's what I show here at least, but it may be wrong. I can definitely help you fix this but need to know the type of screen we are working with.
Thanks

Hello,
Since the projector is not powering on, then it means its having a power problem. The fault is from the power board.
The power board of the the projector is defective as a diode, capacitor or fuse must have blown on the power board as a result of the storm that led to the loss of power.
Get a screw driver, open the projector, take a look at the power board for any blown fuse. If you find any, replace it, but if you don't, then maybe you should send it for repairs.
Good luck.

On some stations I get picture but no sound.
Try resetting the TV to the default settings (Menu > Setup (Options) > Memory Recall (Restore Default), select Yes and then Enter. Exit the menu to save.) Then rescan all channels. The Setup or Options menu icon looks like a wrench and hammer forming an X.
My Viewsonic TV uses the commands in the parantheses but the current manual for the model gives new command names. The above commands worked to solve the problem for me. (In my case, one digital subchannel had video but no audio but the sister subchannel had audio but no video.)
I hope this helps.
