Have to hit power over and over before tv comes on
I had this problem with another make of flat panel TV.
Eventually it would not turn on at all.
The following is what I did, and I am not suggesting you do any of this,
especially if you are not experienced or knowledgeable with electronics. If your TV is under warranty, call the
manufacturer. Mine was out of warranty and it turned out to
be a bad capacitor on Power Supply board. I took the back off the
TV. The power supply board is usually right in the center of the back of
the TV. I then examined the capacitors very carefully. Electrolytic
Capacitors sometimes bulge or split open when they go bad. Attached is a picture of my bad
capacitor. The blue capacitor has a bulge in the top. They don't
always bulge, but sometime leak oil or have a dark residue on them when they go
bad. This is what I did. I am not suggesting you do this, but if
you take your TV apart, be sure to unplug it first. I happened to have a
spare capacitor in my junk electronics bin that was the correct
capacitance. It had a higher voltage rating so it was a little bigger,
but it still worked. I unsoldered the
old capacitor and removed it. I took my
spare capacitor and soldered it back into the motherboard. I also found that I could buy
the correct electrolytic capacitor on Amazon for under $4 including shipping. Radio Shack also had one that would have worked, but it had axial leads instead of radial leads.
Electrolytic capacitors have polarity (there is a + and -) so I had to be
careful not to put it in backwards. I marked the circuit board with the +
and - before I removed the old cap.
I noticed that I could also buy a
new power supply which would have only required removal of screws and plugs,
but were considerably more $. Let me
know how you make out.
Remote On/Off not working - Sensor Broken
Hey, maybe you should try reprogramming your universal and see if that works. Might want to try testing all the codes that work for LG and see if they'd work. If that doesn't work, find a site like www.remotecontrolhookup.com/lg/ and see if you can find your original and buy it and try it out. If that still doesn't work, send it back and you may need to find a local tv repair shop to look at your tv rf sensor.
Z sustainment board repair
These boards are rarely if EVER "repaired" but are replaced.Google the model number with "parts" to find the part number etc--a few dealers (NOT LG) carry and sell most or all of the boards with lists by model number---be aware that LG often used a bar code label on each board---some of the venders will list 2 or 3 parts with different numbers.
Problem with the LG 42PC3D
Sorry this tv it is not repairable because the tv Plasma screen panel itself it is the tv problems and the causes, this tv only can be repair by replace the whole new tv Plasma screen panel itself only not practical.Because the tv Plasma screen panel are 90% inportant to the tv functions and the cost of the tv.By replacing the tv Plasma screen panel will cost the same as a new tv.
