Unfortunately it is NOT a "Scratch"... actually it is one of the "Row Driving IC's" that is failed/failing, this will only get worse and eventually it will get more & more. Worst of all there isn't anything that can be done, sorry.

Never had that model but had other similar models do that when dust shorted out the High Voltage section. I suggest clean it out with a gentle vacuum and an upholstery attachment. First check to see if set is under warranty. Unless you are checked-out with high voltages suggest have a qualified tech test and do this for you.

Hello Jacques, This type of failure on this plasma is due to a defective IC that is mounted underneath the black heatsink located on the Ysustainer board. In order to isolate this failure to the Ysustainer board, I would suggest to check the fuses at location FS2 and FS3. google software upgrades and try. if not look at Z-Sustain or maybe Y-Sus

It could be any of 4 boards, either take it in for service or get a new set.

Hello Tiangston9. These plasma TVs have a common failure with the Ysus boards, more specific an IC that is underneath the big heatsink. The capacitors in the power supply became defective as well. Check the link to find parts to fix your TV.

This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Looks like there are some board failures inside and might require attention by a qualified service technician.

For this model it is usually power supply(look for popped or bulged capacitors) or YSus board(look for shorted components}

check for shorted components on YSus board and Y Driver boards (the boards on the left with the back off) This job is for a tech type person.

PCB means printed circuit board.All the boards in your TV are PCBs, Please specify which board. example YSus, ZSus, Power Supply. Control board, YDrivers etc

Check the settings on your laptop to make sure it is outputting a resolution that the TV will support.
