Solution 1 - Reset TCP/IP stack
To reset your TCP/IP stack, do the following:
- Right-click on the Start Menu button and open Command Prompt (Admin)
- Type the following command and press Enter: netsh int ip reset
- Reboot your PC and check if you're able to connect to WiFi network. If you can, you're good to go, but if not, type the following commands in the elevated Command Prompt and press Enter after each one:
- netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
- netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
- netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
- ipconfig /flushdns
Solution 2 - Re-configure WiFi Adapter
Maybe reconfiguring your WiFI adapter will solve the problem. To do so, follow next steps:
- Go to Search, type device manager and open Device Manager
- Right-click on your wireless adapter and go to Properties
- Go to Power Management tab, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power and click OK
- Modify the default power plan, and switch it from high energy savings to low
HOW DO i MAKE NC6000 BOOT TO USB DRIVE
Turn the computer off in the normal way.
Turn the computer on, tapping the F2 key [it might not be F2, could be esc, F1 F8 or F10, depends on the make and specific model of your PC, for my HP desktops it's F2] a few times each second. This should enable you to enter the BIOS set-up (which key to press) (see

Look at he screen carefully while you do this, because the computer often tells you how to enter the BIOS setup during the start-up process, but the information isn't the for very long: you may have noticed this while you starting the computer all those times in the past.
Once in the BIOS set-up navigate to BOOT options or something like that. You may have to work your way every option (there aren't that many) to find it. Once there it will show a list of places to boot from - these are typically the hard drive, the optical disk drive, and the USB port, you may even have eSATA option. These will be in order. Change the order to make the laptop try to boot from a USB device first. Now exit the BIOS set-up saving the change to the boot device order. If there isn't a USB device when you next boot the laptop will just try the second device on the list. If you start up the computer with a bootable USB device in a USB port, it will boot from that device. (eg a flash memory drive)
There are other ways, but this is fundamental way if your BIOS supports boot from USB (my desk tops do not so I had to find another way)

Reset hp nc6000 notebook to factory restore
You can't restore a compaq nc6000 unless you have the xp disk.In 7 and 8 its much easier to do this, All newer computers have a separate partition with the factory programs in it,This was not an option in xp or older computers.you will have to re-install windows and get all the drivers and software from the HP website.I hope this was helpful
For HP you have to hit F11 when you first start up your computer..
Sreen wont come on its black
I would recommend getting a new computer or replacing the motherboard. Solder points get bad and need to be redone.
Power up but sreen wont come on
Try connecting an external monitor to the blue D shaped plug on your laptop. If you boot up and the screen appears on the external display., you have a failed backlight or cable on you laptop screen.

Hi my hp compaq nc6000 does this weird thing;
All you can do is check it for trojans get a free copy of spynomore and see what it finds If it's not trojans then the hard-drive may not have any space left on it... it needs 10% to breathe. It uses the 10% as cache. If that isn't the issue then try doing a hard drive diagnostic. You may have dropped the notebook one time and the hard drive could be close to failing.
SMART CARD AUTHENTICATION no smart card reader found
I'm only guessing here, but did you set it up for Smart Card Authentication? If so I guess if the card reader hardware fails then so does Authentication unless replaced. Anyway I'm keen to hear the perfect solution for your Laptop problem.
