Hi Raven
Is this a Question?
or are you just telling us that the volume won't go up?
Modern TV's are digital computers
So, the volume buttons don't actually turn up & down like in the past.
The internal computer gets up/down values from a register. Then it performs the change to the Amplifier.
SO... the point is
A technician needs to look at it unless you are technically inclined to check the power supply for say "Bulging Electrolytic Capacitors".
Good Luck
How to Replace an Electrolytic CapacitorSwitched mode power supply
The main system control memory IC is faulty. Replace it, and initialize the memory data to it. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic
/ Time slide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left
of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name/model
number/IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.
Hey Bobby, even though local channels for most places switched from analog to digital you still need an antenna. A digital antenna to be more precise. Advice: don't just get a digital antenna box, look for one that has an antenna on it. You can get some for $50 that will provide crystal clear picture. Speaking from experience. I hope this helps. Good luck. - Joe
THIS HAPPEND TO ME BEFORE MAKE SURE ALL OF YOUR LIKE SKY CABLES OR DVD SCART LEADS ARE FULLY CONNECTED TO THE TV ANF HAVE NO TEARS OR RIPS ON THE CABLE AND ALSO MAKE SURE THAT THE TV IS ON THE RIGHT AV CHANNEL BECAUSE YOU COULD HAVE CHANGED THE AV REALLY EASILY BY MISTAKE
Your reported symptoms are odd in that most failures are related to the primary power supply but that takes down both audio and video.
The backlight is obviously working (white screen) but it is no longer receiving any video information and this points to a failure of the logic (or the output of the power supply that services logic) used to control pixels on the screen.
Some screens have the majority of the control ICs actually mounted on the LCD assembly and because of very close pin distances used on dense ICs, they are often not replaceable by hand since they were installed by robotics.
I would first suspect (and hope for) the logic voltage output of the power supply to be the culprit.
If any of you posters have had a repair done and received any kind of a detailed report (you should), would you be kind enough to post it back as a comment to this original message?
It sounds that the main digital board to your TV has damaged. But, before make it confirm, a through check should be done. Contact any experienced service technician for help. The work is skilled one, that a user cannot do it with ease.
To adjust colour and other picture adjustments
[1] Press "Menu" key to display the main menu.
[2] Use cursor UP/DOWN keys to hilight [green]; Picture or sound ; whatever you wants to adjust, and press ENTER.
[3] Use cursor UP/DOWN keys to hilight [green] AUTO [for factory settings] or MANUAL to set picture settings according to your taste. Here you have to hilight MANUAL as you wants to set it mannualy. Press ENTER after selecting MANUAL.

then cursor keys to make adjustments of the selected option parameter according to your taste.
[5] When you have finished all the adjustments according to your taste, press EXIT key to return to normal tv viiewing. This way you can adjust the sound parameters also. Proceedings are all the same, but the option choose to hilight [green] must be sound. That is all. Ok.
By "will not get power" I'm assuming after its plugged in and in one peice, the power button is unresponsive? If that is the case sounds like a classic powersupply outtage. If you have a multimeter you can check the OHM readings from the powersupply modules to make sure the are within the guidelines provided in the service manual for your TV.
I have a Sanyo DP42746 model, 42". From my research I believe the lines in the picture are letting you know your Buffer Board is about to go out. Mine recently cut out, and it caused horizontal lines to appear. Hope this helps : /
Without knowing how our XBox is connected and how your satellite is connected I am going to have to make assumptions.
If you are connecting with hdmi you could be experiencing the problem that the television is an hdmi version 1.2 or earlier and the hdmi cable you're using is a version 1.3. or even 1.4. The XBox is most likely hdmi version 1.3, but you should be able to connect a version 1.2 cable to it to get it to work. These delay problems used to be quite common back in 2007 when this television was new. Thus there may be no resolution for the problem you are experiencing.
The XBox and satellite receiver should not be set any higher than 720p. I am sure you have already tried that. So lower the resolution on each to 480i and see if you are still having the problems.
Does your satellite receiver have a coax output, and have you tried connecting to the television's rf input? Do you still have the problem?
I definitely do not want to be the one to say this but you will most likely need another television. When you buy it you may have to update your satellite receiver and make sure all of your hdmi cables are version 1.3.
hi, if u using a cable connection direct to tv. then goto the setup menu and select auto tune function. wait till all the channel memories. for any further assistants contact me through fixya.
I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.
Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV
up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors.
Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although
were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of
preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected
due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.
This also happened to me. FFFF displayed in red in center of screen and ageing time 180 also displayed. What has happenend as I have discovered is your TV has entered the factory test mode. You need to reset your television. This can be done by pressing and holding the menu button on the side of the television and pressing the info button on your remote control. Scroll down the menu options that appear onscreen and select reset. click ok Tv will shut down and restart. Note all channels will automatically re scan then you should not have this problem any more. Hope this helps
