Can not down load pictures to pc
Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

The first thing to do is ensure that the battery's charged (some have to be charged and recharged a few times to "wake up" some of the cells, especially if it's been sitting on a store shelf for awhile. Measure the battery to check the voltage.
Also, someone mentioned in a blog that the Litthium battery needs to be changed every 2 years.
Here's a web blog that details things you can try for a dead camera:

Hello
Check the box the camera came with, and see if you can find a USB cable. If there is one, you can connect this to your computer and the camera, and the computer should pick up the camera for you to transfer the photos onto the PC (if there is software that came with the camera, you may be able to install this on the PC to make this process easier). If there is no cable/software included, you will need to get a card reader, and plug that into your computer, then take out the memory card from the camera and insert that into your card reader to transfer the photos onto the PC. Please make sure you know what kind of memory card you have, to get the right card reader for you to do this (the formats are usually SD (Secure Digital), CF (Compact Flash), on Memory Stick. Hope this helps!
LOOKING FOR A usb CABLE FOR MY dxg-608
You need a 5 pin USB cord. RadioShack has some pretty cheap. You could even order them online for next to nothing. Do some searching. If you pay more than $10 for it, you're getting ripped off
Warrenty, My DXG-608 Camera won't power on
I have found if you plug mine into computer it will come on but you can't turn it off when you disconnect it. It still won't take pictures or do anything else but make a noise when you push a button or move joy stick.
Blurry pictures
THisi s for every shutter time? I had the same problem, unless I go to the "S" setting and adjust the shutter time down. Unfortunatley I am having a flash problem, so I need a lot of ambient light. Adjust the shutter speed to less than 1/30 of a second and it should help. Also, I apply very little pressure to the shutter button and wait for the green light on the left hand side of the LCD screen. This tells you that the camera has focused. Then fully depress the shutter button to take the picture.

DPS mode is used to connect this camera directly to a printer. Unhook any cables from the camera and use the mode dial to remove it from DPS mode.
Shutter Speed
Two things to try, 1) The release button is a two stage process. Pushing the release button 1/2 way allows the camera to focus on the subject. It needs a few milli-seconds to do this. A full depress releases the shutter, but it you don't allow the camera to focus, things get messed up.
2) Holding a camera of this type with outstretched arms is a sure way to get poor shots. I use my Fuji S5000 with the viewfinder rather than the LCD display for framing shots just like I was using an SLR/DSLR
