It happens because the system can not find some of the files during installation. What boot device are you using CD or flash drive. Try to install from a boot-able flash drive. This may solve your problem. Please inform if you face the same problem again.

Try updating your touchpad driver from device manager.

if you create a new partition on your hard drive with anything but partition magic or something similar, the process of creating the partition will wipe all data from the entire hard drive to resize the partition. you will probably need to re-install Windows fresh unless the utility you used just happens to have an undo (not very likely) playing with partition sizes of used drives is not advisable.

you may look the jack(tip) show here:
1) your car adapter, the red color wire is + pole which connect to the hole of jack(tip), the black wire is - pole which connet to outcover metal of the jack(tip). that is very common.
2) your new jack: check as smae as above. usually white color connect to red color, and black to black is ground connect to outcover of tip.
then you need check again the voltage pole, the tip 's hole should be possitive "+" and the outcover metal is negative "-" pole, it is very important.
