LG 26LC7D Television Questions & Answers
Lg 26lc7d tv no picture and no sound and
The whistling sound is possibly caused by a burned out transistor. No Pic and sound usually indicates that the sustain boards have collapsed
LG are notorious for failing around the 18 months two years of age mark. But some fail conveniently within the warranty period. In the trade LG does not mean Life's Good but Lotta Garbage! many of the Sustain boards were cheap korean parts and so quality was compromised for price. The repair cost for this unit will be in the 3-400 dolloar region. I think iniotially these LOiquid Crystal sets were retailing for about $700 So it may be time to throw in the towel and buy a new one. Try Samsung as a brand as they have a much better lifespan and very good after sales service.

I need diagram electric power supply Tv LG 26LC7D
Check online as I was able to download a complete SM for the unit I had here for free. Although it does not do you a lot of good as if the capacitors are not the problem then it is going to cost to get it fixedThat si why a Sony purchase is better as they do not fail so easy. If you check the internet the LG have failures all over the place- that is what I found. The one I have here- a customer's was junked.

I can hear it but
It may have power supply problem due to bad caps in the 24vdc power supply or bad backlights inverter board/circuits. Try this first:
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

Will not power up, flashing
If you are getting a flashing red green light that means that the power board has gone bad and needs to be replaced or repaired. have fixed many lg tvs with this problem and it was always the power board.

The Power button on my TV flashes red yellow and
Hello,
If your power light flashed and the screen is not coming up, then it means there is a problem inside the unit that needs to be fixed.
The problem is most likely a power problem, the television is receiving power but not using it up. This used to be caused by a bad capacitor on either the main panel or the power panel of the television.
To fix this, you need to unplug the television for about an hour or two, so the high voltage will dissipate, then you unscrew the screws that holds the front cover and the back cover together. Then you unscrew the panel cover to gain access to the main panel and power panel, then you turn to the part where you have the capacitors, to assess them, if any looks swollen, pressed or burnt, then it is faulty and needs to be replaced.
To replace the capacitor all you have to do is to melt off the lead from the tip of the capacitor from the back of the panel using a soldering iron then fix in a new one and resolder it back on then cut off the extra tip of the capacitor.
Also try to assess the lamp if it is getting burnt so you wont have to open it twice, if it is looking burnt also, get a replacement for it.
Then reassemble the television together and turn it on. It will come on now.
Take care and good luck

Will not turn on, green light is flashing...
Flashing green light usually indicates the TV is need of repair. This is the TV's way of letting you know that its needs to be fixed by your local tv repair shop or to contact your tv manufacture. Hope this helps.
