Networking a mac and a xp computer with a kodak 5500 printer
I'm in the same boat here, I just found out that my new 2008 Mac Pro will not be able to print to my Kodak EasyShare 5500. Unhooking the printer from the Windows machine, so I'll have to print EVERYTHING through a VMWare Fusion (Windows) machine.
It's a shame for Kodak, a nice printer, but without industry standard functionality I really don't see them capturing market share. I will buy elsewhere next time unless they get on the ball, fast!
Printer not printing
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles. If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive. It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.
Error code colour cartridge not installed corectly
Try removing the cartridge, then re-inserting it. Make sure it clicks into place. If you still get the error, shut down the printer, then turn it back on. If you still get the error after that, unfortunately it may be a bad cartridge.
