USE RCA CABLE SET IT IS YELLOW/RED/WHITE THE YELLOW SHOULD BE VIDEO IT WILL SHOW THIS ON SET AND PLAYER. I WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND YOU USE THE AUXILIARY PLUG IN ON SET THEN JUST TURN ON SET AND SET TO AUXILIARY IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS USE DVD FEED IN THEY SHOULD BOTH HAVE RCA PLUG INS FOR RCA CABLE
How do i change out the power supply for an lg
It is all plug in. The only thing you MUST do is using a digital volt meter is make sure your VS,VA voltages are exact to the label on the top of the display panel. If you don't you will wind up with catastrophic failure of other boards in a very short time. They must be set set to a pure white screen.
Hi, my t.v. was fine. the next morning i went to
Hello jmaselli1,
The
popping sound may have been a capacitor or a rely. I am going to assume it was a capacitor, since you probably have not heard the
popping sound since that first time. In the case a
capacitor possibly located on the power supply board has vented and caused a short circuit in your TV set.
To answer your questions:
is this common problem? yes it is due to a strange case of industrial
espionage on the capacitor makers part.
expensive repair? Not really if it is only one bad capacitor, if there are others it could get expensive. depending on the labor costs
I hope this helps,
Thank you,

Power shuts off
Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The most common thing to go out is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.
If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.
I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.
Takes a long time for picture to appear, will not record
there is a problem with the firmware. Firmware is software and hardware for a tv. The two are conflicting with each other. THis is usually cause by a bad capaictor that is sending out the wrong voltage/reading. It will have to be tested.
50' LG plasma TV has thin lines running verticaly through tv
HI, this will happen when the power isn't distributed correctly, in return, depriving the main board of its needed current for operations. this will usually produce these lines.
Replacing the power control board will fix this issue.

Lg plasma after storm doesnt want to turn on
Mainboard damaged and need to be replaced, try EBAY for a general
picture of prices but you will need your product code wich is located
in the back of the TV next to serial number.
TV will not turn on
Ok, you stated that you get a green for a second and then a couple of blinks and then, it turns off. This rules out the power board but, its main control partner is experiencing some trauma. Normally in the plasma TV set, the green is a go but, if the PCB(Power control board), doesn't agree, the the power board will shutdown the entire unit after giving a few blinks. Its very important to remember that, the power board and the power control board are two separate circuit boards. In your case, the PCB is down and it will need to be replaced.
Please rate and god bless.
