Tv will not knock off or come on,keeps tapping

Sounds like you have some bad capacitors that will need to be replaced ... if you are not qualified to do it yourself and the TV is not a high end unit, your best bet is a new TV. As far as knowing if it is on or off ... unplug it, wait a few seconds and plug it back .... most TVs will be in the off mode when you first plug them in. So then you will know it's off.

My sanyo plasma flat screen tv will not come on....

For what it's worth, you can download the official Sanyo repair manual for this TV (DP42746) at http://www.eserviceinfo.com/downloadsm/43343/sanyo_dp42746.html. I uploaded it here when I had some issues with this TV last year. The solution almost always seems to be to replace the Power Board and the Upper and Lower Y Buffers. The parts and costs (from Sanyo in July 2009) are listed below (NOTE: Sanyo will not ship these parts to anyone but a repair shop):
1. V4 Y-Main (Y-Sustain) Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01200A, Alt Part # LJ41-02759A) - USD $139.00
2. Upper Y-Buffer Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01202A, Alt Part # LJ41-02760) - USD $64.00
3. Lower Y-Buffer Circuit Board (Part # LJ92-01203A, Alt Part # LJ41-02761A) - USD $64.00
Sanyo charges USD $10.50 for shipping, which brings the total cost for parts to USD $277.50. From my research, a shop would probably charge between USD $500 and $700 to do this repair. FYI - there is a class action lawsuit pending against Sanyo for this issue. The V4 Y-Main (Y-Sustain) Circuit Boards fail VERY frequently in this TV due to overheating. Hope this helps.

I connected my Mid 2009 Macbook Pro to my Sanyo

It may have something to do with the settings under audio output devices. See if you have options, and ensure that the headphone jack (I assume that's what you're using) is set as the default sound device.

Screen burn-in, screen is green in the middle, and

Try powering down the screen for 48 hours. This give the screen time to cool down, and will hopefully stop the problem. If that doesn't work, try to use the White Screen Method. Here is a link to do so. http://lifehacker.com/146469/remove-lcd-image-burn+in Hope this helps!

Power comes on but screen stays black

Hi Aaron,Have you checked your connections? This is the first thing you must check. Audio video cables or coaxial cables can short out which could cause the issue. Is this a brand new tv setup or some recent issue.

My sanyo vizon dp42647 wont turn on

Some food for thought here the power supply and part of the set:I see so many here with no sound/nopicture issues:ISSUES: 1. IF sound main fuse/s are good.2. If no power or standby check main fuse, standby power supply and any signsof damage you can see---burnt parts etc.3. almost all these sets the troubleshooting involves checking voltages on the main power board to narrow down theproblem.4. Be safe and if you do not know what you are doing don't open the set.Answers to issues:1. RE:fuses---if a blown fuse is found get a good replacement(not the genericones like Radio Shack). Many fuses are special even aside from amperage--Don'tput a higher rated amperage fuse in the set for any reason.2. RE: power supply in set: if total dead aside from main fuse the set uses astandby power supply that runs 7/24 and a main supply (some are combined andsome not. Here aside from checking fuses you want to examine all the filter caps on thepower/standby to see if any are puffed up or buldged up in some fashion--Iattach a photo of a good one---top should be silver metal and PERFECTLY flatand have no brown material coming out on top or bottom. What happens in the standby area is they use caps with too low a voltage rating(saves money) which causes them to fail in a year or two---the standby runs7/24 and the heat dries out the caps and they fail.3. Trouble shooting consists of the above and then at some point you have tobuy and try a board to see if it fixes it or not.4. Safety first--no TV set is worth getting injured or even killed over.4_18_2012_11_36_04_pm.jpgIf the set is opened look on the power supply board for caps puffed up like these--dead giveaway. If you have questions feel free to comment here--I am not the number one rated expert here for the last six weeks for nothing and I do this here for free.SD TECH

42 inch plasma tv clicks on, but no green light and screen or osund does not come on

There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom (look for discoloration of the circuit board around the base of the capacitor) need to be replaced. If you repeatedly turn it off and on, eventually it'll probably stay on, but every time you turn it off, the unit will get harder and harder to start up until one day it just won't.Sometimes you have to do the opposite to start it up and unplug it for some time and then try again. If you aren't tech savvy, don't worry, read the rest of this solution and watch the videos. If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the power supply and/or inverter / FM section for the backlights, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are SURE it's only doing supply output ripple filtering, and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating). Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.I found some great videos of the procedure (for many Samsungs with the same issue) on youtube.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mm51C_RDIZEhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNHHrgX_6cs&feature=relatedhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l0AUj8QUkg&NR=1&feature=fvwphttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y7b_nTaZYcU&feature=relatedBacklight related video here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XoF6QZ1dmw&feature=relatedAs you can see, this issue spans plasma TVs, as well as large and small LCD TVs and monitors, amplifiers, computer power supplies and motherboards, and other electronic equipment. The parts are cheap, and skill required is minimal. A great parts source is Digi-Key, and you can order the parts online at www.digikey.comThey typically cost under a dollar a piece plus a flat shipping rate. The parts usually arrive one business day later. If you watch the third video, you will see that even someone with no soldering experience can perform these repairs as demonstrated by the woman in the video.

Sanyo dp42746 Suddenly no picture, minutes later, no sound.

The buffers are attached to the Y main, on the left side of the board. Samsung, sanyo, several others all have the same boards. As long as they are the right part # just go for the best price. Check www.shopjimmy.com for used boards.
