Same Problem!!!! TV 1 1/2 years old and all of a
I have looked on several websites. Sanyo has a recurring default. They utilized a Samsung power supply. if you get no picture and no sound, it is most likely the power supply has konked out. Usually about 2-3 years has been the norm. I just had a service come out for $99.00 to tell me this also. They want $450 to replace it and even then, reviews have said there is no guarantee of how long the next one will last.
It keeps shutting off on me even though there is
Hi
Thanks
for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is
working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it
produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by
overheating problems. You’ll need to check the power supply board first for any
swollen/bulged capacitors. As power supply board is the hardest working board
in a plasma TV, it develops voltage to supply all components, high current +
high voltage. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise
& know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high
voltages even when switched off. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or
else revert for further assistance.

Broke screen.
Hi,
unfortunately broken screens can't be fixed, you have to replace the entire plasma panel, it will be cheaper just to buy a new tv..
We have no image. sounds
Hi this is almost definitely, the Switchmode power supply, has sensed a fault, and is attempting to shut it all down,. to avoid a fire, or an explosion. It is that "Sound" that gives it away. it is my professional advice that you get the set looked at by a professional, and ask for a "Quote" before allowing any work to commence. This way, you will be able to make an informed decision, as to weather repair or replace the unit. Due to the sophisticated circuitry, and special tools & instrument required after a unit has faulted, there are no "home repairs" any more on modern sets.
Red line running through tv
The individual dots (pixels) that make up the picture are controlled by vertical and horizontal drivers that are rapidly switched off and on. They are arranged as columns and rows with these further controlled in time in a synchronized fashion. The line is being caused by a driver that is failing.
Depending on the degree of integration, these final integrated circuits may be part of the display and not individually replaceable by hand. You may only have the option of replacing the screen with the failed part.
It will be necessary to contact Sanyo (who may not have manufactured the set) to find whether the repair is cost effective.
No pix or souund.
Hi billy
Just read your problem and i figured that since you`re a tech yourself ,
You may find it useful to have the service manual to look at while you`re working on it.
The files is too large to upload here(3 megs) but i could send it to you by email.
Just leave me your email address if your interested.
The green led is blinkin 12 times
Power supply board is dead.Replaced the power supply board will get ur power back.Tries Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply for replacement.
TV comes on and Volume works but no Vison.
From what i can gather from your inquiry it is going to be the Logic Main, that is if you can see a constant blinking LED on the board and a constant on LED right next to it.
Picture goes black
are you using the built in tuner or a set-top-box? Or watching DVDs when this happens? Are they connected through SCART?
First check the cables which lead the signal -antenna/satellite/cable if they are not broken or with damaged connectors.
Scart cables sometimes tend to have too heavy and stiff leads for the weak SCART plugs. This is NOT an issue with HDMi sVHS or any other.
If it's none of these the problem is probably a power lead of the screen and if you don't feel like opening the back of the box, it would be just fine to take it over to a repair shop or to the centre where you bought it if you still have a warranty.
if not find a Sanyo service near your location(refer to http://sanyo.com/ ) or take it to any home electronics repair shop.
rate pls
I feel asleep last night with the TV on. I woke
Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. A plasma TV is a very hard working device. It is working harder than any TV that has been built before, and as a result it produces a lot of heat. 75% of technical problems in plasma TV's are caused by overheating problems. X, Y sustain, buffer boards controls picture, fires the gas, and many others functions. When either of these boards goes bad common problems include negative image, no image, vertical or horizontal stripes on picture, turns on and than turns off, and many more. You’ll need to open the back off the TV and check for any swollen/bulged/leaky capacitors on these boards and replace whichever has gone bad. All this is only recommended if you have electrical expertise & know how to solder/re-solder components as these units contain high voltages even when switched off. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
