I have a powershot g7
Might be the lens or maybe a circuit board in the camera. If you need to get it repaired you can have it done at: www.camerasandparts.com All they work on are Canons and they are not expensive at all. For $89 they service the G7, both the parts and repair are included, the service for the camera, the shipping back, and they also do the no power correction to prevent the common no power problem on the G7 model that a lot of people eventually go through. If you need to have it fixed, they're the place for these. They only work on Canons and they're excellent for service on these models. Good luck with the problem.
Screen is black but camera seems to work fine
For this problem, you can have it fixed at: www.camerasandparts.com They're wonderful for fixing Canons and they have your problem right on the site. Plus, since you have a G7, you benefit as they include the no power correction (common problem) to all G7 and G9 cameras they work on. It will cost you $89 for everything, service for the camera comes included with them too. This is sometimes from a short that can develop in the G7 and the G9. If you already have the problem, you'd need to have it repaired to fix the problems. I know you're in Italy but you can try this site: www.camerasandparts.com They're very popular in the states for fixing the Canon Powershots, I don't know if they can fix yours from Italy but it's worth a try. They do amazing work on the Powershots for about half of what the manufacturer charges, plus they include all of the servicing for the camera too, the correction is done for this loose screw is whether or not you have the problem, plus they cover the shipping back and all for $89 with parts and labor included. Try them, if you were in the US they'd be the place. Being in Italy, send them an email and see if they can help or maybe refer you to some of place. My G7 will not take

for the G7. In other words, you don't have to worry what's causing it,
their repair packages fix it no matter what the cause. The nice thing
with them is they are not expensive at all and they do the servicing

How do you save the
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
Once you've got your pictures on your computer's hard drive, back them up the same way you back up your other files.
The camera won't power on with a brand new freshly
Problem is likely a loose screw in the camera which is common on the G7 and the G9 Canon cameras. You'll want a place that not only fixes the problem but does the internal fix to the screws so it won't happen again. You should contact you local Canon support and have it fixed. Be warned though that it will be expensive, so check if you are still on warranty. If you are living in the U.S. you can apply here:

My Canon Power shot G7
A very common problem on these G7 camera is no power. Some screws inside the camera get loose and it makes a short and the camera looses power as a result. There is a really good site that you can get help with this. If you go to
www.camerasandparts.com they just service the powershot cameras exclusively and they are excellent for help on these. It's not much at all to get it serviced and the nice part is they do a fix to those screws inside the camera so this doesn't happen again. When you go to that site just look at their complete service for no power and you'll see it for the G7. I hope that helps you with the problem. The G7's are really great cameras.

Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.
If that doesn't work, try another card.
