Powershot G7 Camera won't turn on.

Same issue happened on Saturday. Only difference was the lens cover didn't completely shut when I tried to turn it off. I turned it on then off again and the cover shut....but it wouldn't turn back on. I fully charged the battery, but nothing. Tried two different batteries.

I was going to take mine in today to Wolf Camera in CO where I bought it.

Note that the camera was fully cleaned and and a new lense added less than a month ago by Canon (through the warranty program through Wolf)

Thougths?
Did anyone get any feedback?

Canon zoombrowser Ex downloading problem

Try updating the Zoombrowser software.

If you have a connection to the camera, go into my computer and get images directly off the camera using scanner and camera wizard, microsoft's default program. This will at least allow you to transfer your images until you can resolve the software problem.

If you have no connection to the camera via your computer, you need to try some other troubleshooting steps to get a connection. I will post those below in the next post.

Canon Powershot G7 digital camera

A friend suggested I uninstall the digital camera solution disk and then reinstall it. I did so and although my computer seemed to crash once it was restarted after turning it off and back on and getting a blue screen from microsoft stating I had to start it manually everything worked out. I am so thankful. I got about 100 pictures downloaded and stored into the appropriate album. Thank you for your concern.

Unwanted "frame" around photos

Hey Alcofribas,
What this should mean is this is a movie file and not a still photograph. There should be an option to play the movie, and the small image inside the gray box is a screen shot of the first frame of the movie file. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Wont turn on

Did you recently purchase this model, or have you owned it for a while? Has this happened to you before or is this the first time you have experienced this issue?

I can tell you, as an Avid Nikon user..which isnt much different from Canon since they are huge competitors of each other..that this might be a defective battery. I'd recomend contacting the manufacturer or seeking on their website, if they list it, as I know nikon does, and see if there are a select serial number and manufacturer dates on a battery for your model. Nikon had this for their D50 and you might also want to make sure the same thing didnt happen to yours..chances are they might of shared the same OEM battery..

let me know how that goes. We can work on other steps as well...

My Canon pc1234 keeps saying I have a memory card error. How come?

The card may be corrupted and unusable. Try with a new SD Card. If that doesn't work, you need Canon Service. Try formatting it in the computer, add images and see if you can see the images in the camera.
