Child Lock: After switching on the control, the child lock function can be activated. To activate the child lock, simultaneously operate the right and the left of the slider button and then operate the right of the slider button again. "L" meaning LOCKED will appear in all heater displays and the control can not be changed. (If a cooking zone is in the hot condition, "L" and "H" will be displayed in alternation.) The hob will remain in a locked condition until it gets unlocked, even if the control has been switched off and on. To deactivate the child lock, first switch on the hob. Simultaneously operate the right and the left of the slider button and then operate left of slider button again. "L" will disappear in the display and the hob will be switched off. U

May I assume you're not trying to watch the movie on a cooktop?On what device are you trying to watch the movie? From a DVD, or streaming from some website?

Wow I am curious, I have a DEFY 600 STS Thermofan and the plates are also raditcally overheating. The dials go from 1 to 8 but even on setting 1 water boils and settings above 1 is a totally mess. I find on the internet information about thermostats, but isn't replacing a thermostat only for an overheating oven? @N, how did you fix this problem?

Induction cook tops do not heat by convection... only the cook ware gets hot. Your cook ware has to be made or encapsulate ferrous materials. More simply put; if a magnet won't stick to the pot it won't work on an induction cook top.

There is no fix, it is factory designed this way. Only two settings HI and LOW. If you need to cook food replace the unit. Sorry I have one as well.

Check your Manuel if you dont have it put your model number and error code to google

Or maybe you just added to what was stuck on there. Use a good ceramic cooktop cleaner or a water/vinegar mix AND a razor blade scraper. I have found that the only way to get EVERYTHING off the cooktop is to use the razorblade scraper. You may not be able to see it or even feel it with your fingers but there is burnt stuff on there and it takes some work to get it off.
