Does not produce ozone, I have replaced the fuse, it has been cleaned and the amber light is not on.

it's possible that the ozone generator inside has gone bad. The only way to really know is to remove it from the unit and then test it with a power supply w/correct voltage of coarse. You will smell the ozone immediately if it works upon testing. (clean fresh smell) If it does need replaced, it's an easy fix for anyone with electronics knowledge. You will need to match up the numbers to get the correct replacement. Many are available on Ebay. Always disconnect the power to the unit before taking it apart. Hope this helps, Dave

GETTING FAN OFF

Plastic tends to conform to the metal shaft over time, however they will usually come off intact. If there are ears on the retaining clamp, press those together to expand the clamp and remove it from the fan hub, then carefully apply pressure tot he back side of the hub to extract it off shaft. If you cannot get easy access to it, sometimes gentle rocking of the fan blade from the hub will free it once the clamp is removed.

You have a three year warranty on the machine. Send it back so they can fix it at no cost. It will only cost you about $15 to ship it to them.

How long have you owned the machine? If bulb is out, (the one deep inside the machine) it means the RF ionizer or needle point ionizer isn't working. Clean both of them and you should get the bulb to come back on.

The plate is going bad. Sometimes it's just a bad part of the plate that has corrosion under it, try turning the plate and sliding in again. Sometimes that's all it needs. Sometimes it just needs to be brushed well, cleaned, and then blow-dried.

Can't find uv lamp in

The picture is a classic, with no UV light. Still works great. It got my kids off their inhalers after 15 years of 4 per month. Now 4 per year. A Fresh Air, depending on the age, has a light attached in the bottom of the visible base behind a cage and plate, and the new honeycomb units have the light inside the honeycomb.

Hi-I have the Living Air

He probably cleaned the unit and restored the plaques. Green light or no green light, it doesn't affect the production of ozone. If still in doubt, when you go to pick it up, have him operate fit or you before you leave the store. I've had one 7years and the green light hasn't worked for three years. I clean it regularly and it still produces ozone when needed. Regular, routine maintenance is the answer.

An old product called Liquid Solder might just do the trick. You will need to have some way to clamp or tape the two pieces together, until it's fully dried.

DO NOT RUN THE MACHINE WITH THE DEFECTIVE PLATE! The sparks indicate that the plate is either defective, wet, or dirty. You can try cleaning the plate, then inspecting it for flaws.
The plates (4" white ceramic squares with screen glued to center of each side) must be clean and inserted correctly. 1) Soak the plates in equal parts plain ammonia/water for 5 minutes. Scrub gently with a toothbrush or small veggie brush. Rinse well. Blow dry or air dry. DO NOT use a towel or paper to dry it off. Avoid touching the screen with your fingers. 2) Inspect the plate carefully for cracks, discoloration, broken wires, loose mucilage, burned areas, or visible dirt or bug parts (!). If the plate is flawed or corrupted, you need to order a new one from Vollara (formerly EcoQuest/Alpine) at 800-989-2299. Use #16618 for the referral number. 3) Clean the metal fingers with a cotton swab and alcohol. 4) Insert the plates firmly, making sure they go in on the tracks, and that the contact fingers rest firmly on the screen part. The little flickering light is simply an indicator of power, and is normal.

No output to the plate.

I think you've diagnosed the problem! If the transformer goes out, there is no power to the fingers. It sounds like you've taken good care of the machine, and are knowledgeable about how it works. ( I don't know the voltage of the fingers.)
The Classic is still being sold by Vollara (formerly EcoQuest) and they will tell you what your options are. It won't cost an arm and a leg, either. Call Customer Service at 800-989-2299 and ask for repairs. Use #16618 if you need a referral number.

880 alpine air (2) on

The transformer may be burned out. This supplies the power to the contact points which send current through the plates. You can try ordering new plates, just to see if yours are just plain worn out! You're doing the right thing, by using ammonia/water, but they aren't made to last forever! Call Vollara (new name for EcoQuest) at 800-989-2299. Use #16618 if you're no longer in touch with the registered distributor who sold you the machines. If you still detect no clean air amell, the machines need a part which the company no longer handles. And they no longer manufacture the 880 or Breeze, which was its upgrade. Customer service will explain your options.

My air purifer seems to be frozen. It is plugged

Check all of the connections.
1) Make sure the back screen is installed so that the internal safety switch is depressed (it will click; you can see it in the slot on the bottom margin of the machine.)
2) If there is a toggle switch on the back of the machine, make sure it is in the "on" position. (On some machines, the toggle end with the "I" should be pressed. On other models, the little switch is not marked, but just leave the machine plugged in and the switch in front "on," and try moving the little switch in back.)
3) Make sure the plate is correctly inserted into the tracks, both top and bottom.
4) If none of this causes any movement, check the fuse in back. If it looks blown, replace it with one EXACTLY the same, usually found at an auto parts store.
5) If all fails, call the Vollara company (new name for EcoQuest) 1-800-989-2299. Ask for repairs. You can use #16618 as the Dealer referral number if you are no longer in touch with the registered distributor who sold you the machine. They will tell you your options.
