The laser lens has lost its potential... if it is in warranty you can ask for a new drive...or you can buy a new drive and keep it as an additional drive...

The dvd player does not support the windows format just find out which for mat it support and make sure u convert into to compatible format of your dvd player

if u r sure about properly working of software & os ,u must check internal hardwares of it,like lens motor & its lever.even,sometimes by an easy cleaning of the lens,u can solve thisproblem...

check the IDE/SATA cable,if its connected,now u must to become sure from lens.maybe it need to cleaning.therfure,if after cleaning this problem still apear,so u must change the board or somethings in it by testing

Check the bios to see if multiple drives are supported. Try swapping the drives on the cable.

you remove the first dvd or cd rom. in the back where you plug in the cables, search for a diagram of master, slave and cable select pin sets. on both of these roms, there will be one. set one to master and the other to slave. make sure the master is connected to the ide cable plug closest to the motherboard. the slave will be the last one on the IDE cable.

you have problem with your application 1st you have uninstalled these application and install again your problem will be solved...

Quite often a hard disk will not write to some disks, Try changing to another brand of disks. You may have to try more than one brand untill you find one that works with yours.Hope this helps you.

Change the data cable it may work.

Sounds like the belt inside is broken or came off. Does te drive still sound like it is opening but does nothing? Also try using a small paper clip and push it into the small hole on te front of the CD-ROM that will at least open the drive manually and possible fix the problem if the device is stuck.

Say what drive model you are replacing. The  IDE interface ribbon cable is a broad PATA cable that plugs into the the slot at rear of the drive ,its the only place it can go .IF your cable is a narrow one you need a drive with a SATA cable.

Hi, as your LG GSA-H42N CD/DVD had an IDE interface you need a drive with the same type of interface .I had to replace my internal drive after years of use.As it was a Pioneer brand with an IDE interface I replaced it with a Pioneer DVR-A 18 L which cost £17.99.from Amazon.co.uk and that included free postage.
