whatever software you are using to burn dvd;s, make sure the right burner drive is selected. if it is selected properly and still having an issue. that means the dvd writer is busted and can't detect a blank disc place into it. in that case, have it replaced.

The laser inside the device could be broken, i.e., not generating any laser-beam. Or, the receiver (that senses the reflection of the laser-beam) could be broken.

Click start control panel administrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver or select properties general troubleshoot, select driver click to reinstall drivers click update driver or uninstall then reinstall if this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer Close all open programs

This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.

If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose DeleteAfter deleting the keys, close the registry editorReboot your computerOpen My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd restart your computer then plug them back this should activate the found new hardware wizard or you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall your DVD/CD then reinstall the driver for this device hope this helps you

if you are talking about the language on your computer click start control panel,regional and language options select regional language options from the drop down list select the language you want also from the bottom drop up list you can select your present location location or another language hope this helps

It happens to me also ALL the time with mine. I have a 7 disc duplicator machine I do for weddings and special events. And it's a real pain and costly to have that come up when you need the project done soon. My solution is to change the brand on the master disc. Burn another copy of the master disc on your computer to another brand and then use that brand as the new "master" in the duplicator. (1 sollution)


"Target Overflow" basically means that either sometimes the master disc has too much information on it to burn than the disc you want to copy can hold, or sometimes a CD may be in by mistake instead of DVD. If you have a Dual layer DVD disc you want to make copies of and you only have the basic 4.7GB standard DVD blank disc..it's not enough storage space on the disc to burn so you will see that error also. It should really say "not enough space to burn) lol..but I guess that's asking too much.

Sometimes all is correct with the DVD size and it'll come up for no reason (usually the master disc is still spinning and hasn't stopped but you've already pressed the "Copy" button, it's not "ready" so an error of "target overflow" will come up)

I've had mine for 6 years so I've done alot of testing and trial and error to come to the above conclusions.
I find that these brands work for the best "thorough" burns.

Sounds like you made a data disk with MP3s and not an audio cd.

To play on a "regular" CD player, you should burn an audio cd.

Different burning programs have different options for this.

99% of burners switCH auto from cd to dvd. just select corresponding option in burning program

May I suggerst you reseat all internal connections on your drive? (Power, IDE or what ever) Make sure you are grounded to the case while you do this and you have the power cord disconencted from the wall.

Close up everything and re-connect all the stuff you disconencted.

After you do that, remove the device via the device manager.

Reboot - let windows refind the device. Have the driver CD ready if applicable.

your DVD ROM's lens has became weak.
and it cannot be repaired.
But if you manage to open the DVD ROM clean the dust in it & it will start working agaain but be careful remember that no power should be attached to ROM.

Trial and error, pushing buttons until I was able to do what I was trying to accomplish. I would suggest more detailed instructions in your manual.

This will all depend on the age of the equipment and what connectors are on each one. Could you post photos of the panels on them showing what connector ports are actually there. How old is the reel to reel? The really early 1970's models will probably not work or will need specialist cable adapters to get it to connect to the Kenwood and even then it may not work. The 80's and some of the 90's ones used Component, Phono or Jack Plug connectors. The really modern ones use Optical cables. In general it usually sets up by connecting to the "OUT" port on the reel to reel and the matching "IN" port on the Kenwood.

There are several things that you can try. Move the carriage for the laser diode to the center area, Put a disk in and note where the label is and then eject it to see if it is spinning, check the voltage on the laser diode. This will give you an idea of what the issue is.
