Double check the alignment of the sensor and magnet, the house may have settled and the alignment may have changed enough to show the fault / set the alarm off. There should be a notch or series of notches on the transmitter, make sure the magnet is centered on that. Also make sure the gap between the two is as small as you get it and still able to operate the windows (both vertically and horizontally). If all that checks out, you could have a tamper switch (GE uses a spring to hold it down) that is not getting fully depressed. or, you may have a bad transmitter. If it is the spring, you may be able to stretch it out a little to ensure good pressure on the tamper switch.

Check the outlet to ensure it :1- has power , 2- is not a switched outlet. Check your wire connections to ensure they are secure. If all of the above are good, the transformer may have shorted when disconnecting. Use a voltage meter on the transformer terminals and the AC scale, check the output of the transformer.

There is a couple steps in removing this panel. First, unplug the unit and then locate the tab on the top of the unit, it has to be pushed down. When the tab is pushed down the first faceplate should drop down, exposing the keypad with the menu options. Second, you need to get a small flat head screwdriver and put it under the clip at the top of the panel. You can locate it by finding where your pushed the original tab down; it's right below that. Once you have your screwdriver under the small clip, push the clip up and pull the 2 faceplate towards you. Finally, after the second plate is down, unscrew/unplug the wires from the panel, unscrew the mounting panel and your done! Get the front cover open by pushing the tab at the top of the panel down while pulling on it. When the cover is down enter the 4 digit master code using the red numbered keys. Power your system down first. Plug in the battery, the panel should beep, then plug in the AC power. If the panel doesn't beep you might have a bad battery. If the panel powers up after the battery then AC power reset your time and the beeping should stop.

The Simon 3 is a "self-contained" system, meaning everything is in the keypad itself and there is no separate control panel with the circuit board and battery -- it's all in the keypad.

Open the system, unplug the transformer, disconnect one lead of your battery, reconnect the battery first, then the Ac if it says low battery still, then you need a new battery take the one you have go to battery plus get a new one, and reconnect it, it may still say low battery, wait for an hour for the battery to charge, disconnect the AC and battery again, reconnect the battery first then the transformer. It should clear the low battery.That battery is a 6 VDC 1,.9 Ah.

You need to contact the company that installed it originally and have them remotely restore the factory code if not you have to default your system to the factory code.

If your motion detector act like a door it is because it has been program like a door, you need to go back to the program delete your sensor, and reprogram it with a group 17 , right now it's probably program as a group 13 ( instant)

If, as you say, you just changed the battery and had no phones right afterward it's likely that you accidentally loosened the phone jack inside the back of the panel(accessible when unit is opened to change the battery).
