Since the charger says that the battery is not faulty, but it does not charge the battery, then the charger is faulty. The same happened to my client. The dewalt chargers do have 1 year warranty.

Assume a simple fault and check the carbon brushes. Worst case is a blown rotor which would probably be terminal.

No it only fits the models it is designed to fit. Go on eBay to check this.

If the battery is really being fully charged the connections are probably dirty but if the battery has been left discharged for a while it could now be faulty.

A faulty battery can often be recognised by the unusually short time charging takes and sometimes an extraordinarily lengthy time.

A voltmeter should be used to check the battery...

ive seen this problem before on my dads drill. the selector knob probably broke on the inside. if so you'll need to get a new knob. I use ereplacementparts.com for my individual parts needs.

is it brushless? if it has brushes make sure they move freely in their box otherwise the motor isn't getting power. if it's brushless either there's a connection problem with the smaller battery wires telling the saw each cells voltage or the motor controller is bad.

use a oem replacement power cord, remove one wire at and make a drawing of location or take a picture connect the wires back in the proper position. If you removed power cord before doing this yuou will have to send it or take to repair shop.

If the charger is not working the input lines must be check for continuity on the both the lines, preferable one wire might be damaged hence it is not giving supply to transformer.....
