From the manual.

Some chargers have a Problem Power Line indicator. When the charger is used with some

portable power sources such as generators or sources that convert DC to AC, the charger may

temporarily suspend operation, flashing the red light with two fast blinks followed by a
pause. This indicates the power source is out of limits.

Measure the output voltage, if it is low then you must replace the charger, they don't sell parts to repair them.

It is not feasible to convert it internally.

I had to replace that on one of mine. It is not a regular diode. P6KE51A Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diode. That is the part # on the USA model. A European model may use different #. 8645a6dd-c755-4fe7-a00b-699ca51bc6af.jpg

Fisrt, please check your charger is ok or not.

Second, please check how many your battery has been used, if it has bee a long time, I suggest you to replace it to a new one.

If you do not know how to find the right battery or charger for it, please go to cordless tools battery shop to have a look or ask them to check it for you. UK Handheld Vacuum Cleaner battery Cordless Power Tools Battery Laptop...

Can you (carefully!) measure the volts across them with a load (battery) and then the current through them by disconnecting one end, and if the charger is still working OK then they are V/I ohms, choose nearest value. 10k sounds very high, are you sure they aren't 1 ohm or less?

I would it could be something as simple as an open fuse. Generally they cost around 75.00 depending on the charger.

It is likely the fault is the battery and not the charger. To confirm this take the charger to any Radio Shack and ask them to test the charger or if you have a small meter do it yourself, the charging voltage will be up to 5 volts more than the rated battery voltage of the drill, so if you get a high reading don't worry about it. Fast charger will be way over the battery rating, also fast chargers have a cost, they shorten battery life due to heat. I have had many battery powered tools, I have found that the batteries last about 2 years on average. I have this same Dewalt drill driver.

I assume that you have tried it with another battery...if not try a different battery...the battery you tried maybe bad... this often happens...
If more then one battery does not work, then check the contacts inside where the battery goes to make sure there is no dirt on them or that they have not become bent...

If all that checks out then the charger went bad...

the light will change to a constant green when fully charged. Anything other than that and you might have another problem. It usually takes about 1 hour
