the green haze is caused by a bad optical engine ( common problem)
contact Sony. There are class action lawsuits over this issue..they may pay for the part..or maybe the complete repair!

The tv know the door isnt on because of an internal switch. Make sure all doors are on usually three blinks indicates door isnt on. If the tv still doesnt power on your balast might be out.

3 times red light blinking indicates that Lamp Cover has not been fixed in its location properly after lamp replacement.
Please make sure lamp cover (its first thing that was removed to replace lamp) is installed securely.

Hi,
This problem is due to defective optical block (light engine) that needs to be replaced by tv repairman, I'm afraid, optical block replacement is costly repair that would cost you approx new tv price.

These Sets will have Either a Green Hue,Blue Haze or Spots everywhere when Light Engines are Bad.

Normally if the bulb is burned out the bulb will have broken bits inside the bulb itself, AND WILL NOT LIGHT UP, and it will rattle, If the bulb doesn,t light up, as seen through the cooling vents, then replace the bulb.

you have to replace the bulb what happening is the life hours on the bulb is almost over just replace the bulb soon or later you will see a red flashing light sometimes that's indicating the bulb needs to be replaced

Ummm. Take the $1133 in cash and buy a Sony KDS-60A2000.
Possibly call Sony customer relations, they may cover repair. I know this is possible.

It could be but if it is the lamp you wont be able to see anything on the screen, the screen would be black. You sould check the lamp if it looks old and burned out you may want to replace it. If you do replace it make sure not to touch the glass lens on the new lamp.

may be ur tvs lamp cooling fan have some problem. check it first. if lamp not get cooling it will go to over temperature, the circuit inside will sense this and make ur lamp off. and when the lamp get cooled come back again. if the fan is working then u can hear a small "ish" sound in the lamp side of ur tv. check it is it is there.
also check ur lamp, is there is any loos contact in its connection. just open the lamp cover, remove the lamp and then refix it again. then again test the tv.

If your picture is still bright and looks normal to you then the only thing you have to do is reset the lamp hours back to zero (0). If you have no picture then replace the lamp.

REPLACE THE LAMP THE ON/OFF CYCLE IS MOST LIKELY THE LAMP. FOR THE BLUE I SUGGEST CHECKING ALL THE CONNECTIONS FOR VIDEO YOU HAVE HOOKED UP IN THE BACK. OTHERWISE THAT MODEL HAD PROBLEMS WITH YELLOW/GREEN VIDEO DISTORTIONS REGARDING THE OPTICAL ENGINE NOT REALLY ANY BLUE.

If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast.It's major symptoms are clicking,electrical sounds,shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator.But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs,It's major symptoms are clicking,electrical sounds,shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator, it could be time to replace the lamp.

Unfortunately you have problem with optics block.
It is a very common issue.
Sony had issued recall for these units. But some of the recalls already expired.
I would recommend you to contact Sony in recall warranty coverage information.
If it is out - repair is somewhere around $600-$800 and it is not worth of fixing.

Lamp cover error, lamp cover is not attached securely. Please check the lamp cover if deformed. If the lamp cover has been deformed due to excessive heat exposure, replace it with a new one. Sometimes the lamp cover melts due to overheating caused by poor air ventilation. Clean the fan and lamp compartment to avoid overheating....

The 3 blink code indicates that the lamp door is not secure. If you havent removed the door then its probably the switch for lamp door sensor.

I would remove the lamp door and then reinstall it. Do this with the set unplugged then plug it back in and check operation.. Basically sometimes the lamp door switches become dirty and by removing and reinstalling the door it usually corrects the problem..

If this doesnt work then you will need to either have the set checked out by a tv technician or you can try replacing the switch yourself. But as I said normally just removing and reinstalling corrects the problem.. Good Luck!
