The lamp replacement setting needs to be triggered in your system's menu, letting the TV know you changed the lamp. In the menu settings, advanced or other, you should find a bulb reset feature.

Mitsubishi WD 65731 - where is the thermal sensor

does not need to be resoldered. needs to be changed! Any tech that is familiar with Mitsu would tell you that. It's behind the lamp area. Should be done by a Tv technician or you may never get it back together. But not expensive to repair. About $150 parts & labor.

Hello,

There seem to be a problem with the television, and is power related. The television is receiving power but not utilizing it that is why you have the blinking power light, it most likely is caused by a bad capacitor on either the main panel or the power panel.

  1. Unplug the television, then get a screwdriver, a cup, replacement capacitor and a soldering iron.
  2. Turn the back of the television and unscrew it open,
  3. Then you assess the main and power board for any bad capacitor,
  4. Once you have detected the bad capacitor, melt it off from the back of the board,
  5. Then fix in a replacement capacitor and solder it back on,
  6. Then reverse the whole process to reassemble the television back together
Take care and good luck
Hope this helps you!

Theres no picture

I have the same tv as you with the same problem. I'm sorry I have no solution for you but I can tell you that it will keep happening over and over and over again. We have had ours for just about 3 years now and have had to replace the lamp 6 times (it does the same thing to us, sound but no picture and then turns itself off) you can try to push the system reset button on the front panel of your tv but most likely that won't work. We have also replaced the fan and the light fixture twice. Best Buy (where we bought the tv) has now spent double what we originally spent on it just to "fix" it. I would recommend fixing the bulb and selling it as quick as you can unless you want to spend over $1000 a year on maintenance. We know 2 other people with the same tv just a smaller size and they have both had the same problems we are having. This model obviously has a major problem but neither Mitsubishi or Best Buy want to do anything about it other than temporarily fix it until my warranty wares out. Get out while you can is my advice to you.

If the screen is turning yellow from the centre out, then the blue LCD unit is burning up. Check that there is good airflow to cool the optics. It will not recover if that is what has happened unfortunately.

Power light keeps flashing and won't turn on/

Hi,

If only power button is blinking then there is a problem only in your power button tube.

This sounds like a problem with the reset in the TV. This is not a reset circuit like you are thinking. It has to do with the micro and relay circuit in the TV. Another way around it would be if you had a cable box. You could hook it up to the cable box and just shut off the box and this would turn off the TV.

Also Unplug the TV and wait for a few minutes....plug back in. Hopefully it'll reset itself. If not, try reprogramming the remote and use that making sure there are good batteries in it.

If nothing works pull the back off and look around for a fuse near where the power cord is connected. It may be a circuit breaker too. Locate but DON'T TOUCH the large black wire going into the side of the tube. Follow it back to the fly back transformer or voltage Tripler. Look for a fuse here on the circuit board. Reason I say don't touch the wire is that it could be charged at about 28,000 volts which is normal for a colour TV. The TV glass and the outer coating forms a capacitor which stores DC current. An open fuse would mean the power supply is not functioning.

Please get back to us if you have any further query or else accept the solution.
