Lamp overheated
the connector itself can be replaced but I would also make sure the lamp fan is running properly and isnt full of dust. that is what usually happens.

My mitsubishi tv wont show a picture but it will make sounds
Hello, there are several things, a bad ballast board that provides the lamp with it's voltage to run it. Also a bad power supply can cause it. a bad Color Wheel will also stop it from coming on, if you heard a high pitched squealing sound before it went out, the color wheel would be my best guess.....tks

Why is there vertical black and white strips on my mitsubishi wd65731 65" HDTV?
You have a problem with the Formatter Board. This is placed between the Light Engine and the Fan. If you are planning to do this your self, before you buy make sure you get the right part since there are 2 different boards. This part cost about $60 and it is relatively easy to install. It requires patience, latex gloves, pointy pliers and both types of screw drivers.

No sound
Make sure the speakers have not been turned off in the menu. If not--the amp chip in the Tv could have been killed. Along with a fuse or resistor in line with it. Not usually a hard problem to fix.
