How to hook up to panasonic tv & sony dvd player

DVD output (HDMI) to HDMI input on TV will transfer both audio and video from DVD to TV. Audio output on TV to unused Input on Yamaha receiver (Aux, CD, etc.). This hookup will allow DVD and TV channels audio playback through your Yamaha receiver. Remember to test any/all new hookups or connections using minimum settings (volume, etc.), and bring up levels slowly for the initial testing.

Speakers sound tinny

Did it ever work right? When did the problem start?

Echoes:

There are many DSP modes with this unit. Echoing voices is probably one of them. This is a user setting. Look at the front panel for information regarding that. I imagine the Straight/Effect button might change it.

Have you read the manual and followed the specific menus for setting up the DSP modes?

Screeching, Scratchy Sound: I don't think this is related.

Is it from all sources? All channels? All DSP modes?

I have connected by Bose

hi,
First off all you have to check the frond L/R out put of your Yamaha AVR. One more thing is check the is the speaker A/B option. you can see the selection button on the frond panel of your receiver. If the out put of the AVR is ok then you have to check the Network circuit inside the acoustimass sub. You have to remove the back panel of sub. There you can see a network circuit board. first of all you have to check the 5 lamps at its input stage. It is used as a protection for the speakers. check the continuity of the five lamps. If any one found open then you have to replace the same. Have added the picture of that network. you can see the five lamps in the left side. Also check the fusible resistors in the board. its value will be written on its top.
ok

I am trying to figure

Use a 3.5 mm to 2Male RCA cable. Plug this into an AUX or CD input in the back. Adjust the volume on the iPod as well as the master volume to balance out the sound. The headphone on the receiver is output only.

How do i connect my HDTV to my YAMAHA HTR-5930

The simplest for the movie would be to connect the Optical digital audio out of the TV (above the VGA port) to the Optical Audio In on the receiver. You will need to get this cable from any store that sells TOSLink cables. The manual for the TV is available here: http://www.lg.com/uk/tv-audio-video/televisions/LG-led-tv-42LE5300.jsp . The manual for the receiver is available at the Yamaha support page if you are a registered Yamaha customer: http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?category_id1=16445&&category_id2=16446&product_id=1060939 .

For the XBox, I'd suggest the same connection if you are using HDMI out on the XBox. If you are using component or composite video, route the audio cables to the receiver's RCA audio in.

I hope this helps.

I have a Yamaha HTR-5930 Home Theater Sys.

The XBox is probably hooked up separately to the amplifier, try cycling the inputs on the amplifier. If that doesn't work replace the cbale between your amplifier and tv.
