Do you have a phonograph
input on your amp? If not you may have to purchase pre amp. What type of cartridge
do you have installed on the turntable? Do you have a moving coil or moving
magnet cartridge? If you have a moving
coil your amp needs to have an input for a moving coil cartridge or you must
use a pre amp.

Hi,
Let me know model number of your Sony record player to help you out.
Model number would be written on rear or bottom of unit.
Thanks.
Ps-lx 430 1 speaker gives low volume. Otherwise
This is an old-school turntable so it requires a PHONO input on the amplifier (or a Phono Preamplifier). It will not produce either enough volume or the correct frequency response without it. Google Phono RIAA
Speed is too slow. Does the belt stretch over time
Yes belts do stretch over time, often you will get wow and flutter too with it. Replacing the belt could solve it. If it's old anyway it could do with replacing. Please make a note of how it fits before removing it. Belts are measured in MM (diameter), but with TT belts you need to measure the width.
Belt came off
Normally the belt does not go thoough any special tensioners or anything of that nature,The belt should go directly from the spindle motor onto the inside of the platter. Hook the belt on the motor section and lay the belt open wide inside the turntable. Next, replace the platter and manouvre the belt onto the platter inside, through the two large holes
HOW DO I INSTALL A TURNTABLE BELT FOR A SONY
Under the felt of the turning section, there should be two rather large holes. Insert your thumb and forefinger and pull the table off. You should also see where the existing belt is running. Insert new belt around the motor first and replace the table section. Now, through the two holes, manouver the belt onto the table section until it spins freely
Will not power on
Is this powered by an external AC Adapter? If so replace the AC Adapter.

Have you measured the stylus downforce. It usually is between 1 & 1.5 grams.
Turntable spins to fast
The motors are a common problem with this
model! Replace it to correct but I suspect the
motor regulator ic which is not avalible is the
real problem!
For the Sony PS-LX350H screeching turn table,
Stay away from the belt and any surfaces it touches with that grease. Don't even touch them with bare fingers.
You need to identify the part(s) that are causing the screech before wailing on it wit h grease.
Is it a physical sound heard directly from the TT or is it a screech through the speakers (indicating feedback or audio signal distortion)?
Take the platter of and look for a reason if it's a physical problem. Look for signs of scraping. Manually rotate the platter base CW and listen.
If the screech is electronic, turn the volume down and/or get the TT away from speakers. Clean the stylus.
Screeching turntable
Try to pin-point where the sreech comes from. You can do this by keeping your ear close to the turntable. Or you can use one of those 'bent' drinking straws to narrow it down, put one end of the straw in your ear and listen. If you find it's metal rubbing together you can use silcone grease on it.
I am wondering how to install the belt on the
You wrap it around the protruding disc on the bottom of the turntable, then as you place it on, you hold the belt over the little post that is sticking up from the base of the player. Gently lower it and it is on.
RUBBER BELT FELL 0FF
If you lack the manual that speaks to this, go to retrevo.com, register and download it for free.
There's a good illustration on page 4. Use a piece of folded paper or ribbon to handle the belt as you do not want oils from your skin to contaminate it, nor do you want to distort or damage it.
