How do i program the bcd996t from radio reference
You must have an appropriate software program to transfer directly from Radio Reference. As far as I know, the BUTEL 996 package is the only one available to do this. You can find more information here:
http://www.butel.nl/products/bc996/bcd996.html
or there's a link to them on the Radio Reference site.
I've been using their software with my BCD996XT for over a year, and it's fantastic!

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
As a first course of action I strongly suggest that you remove the battery of the unit and let it sit for atleast 5mins. then reconnect it again. This will reset the system and can get your unit back to it's normal operation.
Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!
Need to rest the bc895xlt
Power the scanner OFF, then press and hold the 2, 9, and MANUAL keys while you power the unit ON.

No clue how to program the scanner !!
Your best choice for software is the BuTel program. You can find it on Butel.com, ScannerWorld.com, or RadioReference.com. Once you have it installed you can download and program both conventional and trunked systems directly from RadioReference.com. I have the BCD996XT with Butel and RadioReference, and the combination works great.

Trunking no longer works on my BCD996T scanner, Conventional work
Hi Mike,
Try updating the firmware and see if this solves the problem. While I understand that it "worked before", some of the programming software has been updated to work only with the newer firmware. Also, the newer versions of programming software are required when importing systems directly from radio database sites (such as radioreference.com).
If this does not work, try to enter system data by hand rather than importing. If trunking works then, it sounds like a software problem with your programming software versus the radio itself.
Hope this helps!
Unable to program trunking after uniden download was completed
I would try redownloading and reflashing the firmware on the scanner. If this doesn't work, you may want to try downgrading to the previous version of the firmware. If you are unable to redownload the firmware from Uniden, there is a Yahoogroup dedicated to this radio.

Also in the files section, there are older versions of the firmware.
Hope this helps!
Need manual for uniden scanner bc155xl
I couldn't find a manual for this oldie, but here's programming guidance from Uniden:
Here are basic instructions for programming nearly all of the older scanners that Uniden produced.
When the scanner is turned on press the MANUAL key, then press the
channel number that you want to program first, then the MANUAL key
again. This will stop the scanner from scanning and hold it on the
channel that you want to program.
Then you enter the frequency (be sure to use the decimal point
in the right area when entering in the frequency) and then press the E
or ENTER button to save the frequency on the channel. You are now
finished programming the channel. To advance to the next channel simply
press the MANUAL key and enter your next frequency the same way that
you entered it on the previous channel (as described at the beginning
of this paragraph).
I hope this helps.
How do i program a uniden truncktracker
Sorry, but there is absolutely no way to cover programming of such a sophisticated scanner in this forum. If you need the manual for reference you can download/print by following the link below. Your best bet, outside of the manual, is to join a scanner group in your area, or purchase scanning software such as the ARC996 from BuTel (http://www.butel.nl/) and download/program using the services of RadioReference.com. RadioReference is also the best source for active frequencies and trunking systems in your area.

My pc is not recognizing the scanner
In your printer and fax folder you probably have more than one printer installed and your default printer is not the one you just installed, Select the printer you just installed and set it as your default and try again
