Can you calibrate a General Lee
buy a external swr meter.. usually like 10 bucks at any truck stop.

Connex 3300hp radio
Hi,
Based on your post/description:
1. how
do i set the swr
Normally SWR are calibrated on your operating channel (where you usually stand-by). This is to maximize transmit power and receive sensitivity. To set SWR, switch to channel of your choice, switch SWR control to CAL, key or press PTT, while pressing PTT rotate ADJ knob until max deflection of needle on meter, release mic, switch control to SWR, key/press PTT, needle reading/deflection is SWR for that channel.
I would suspect that your SWR will vary from your current 1.4. This is because you have too big excursion of channels (240 channels).
2.reading
a 1.4
This reading is good enough and should do. However as earlier stated, you seem to have 240 channels which would mean that your radio + antenna moves in a wide bandwidth and since the antenna tuning is affected by frequency, your SWR will also be affected by channel.
Best if you can further lower it down.
3. some
cb cant get me
This is because the standard CB radio is only 40 channels. The next would be a 80 channel and then 120 channels.
4. is
it my radio
Yes, you have a wide coverage radio almost an extended 10 meter rig.
5. do
i have to set my radio on high or low to set my swr
I will assume you are referring to power output, set it to HIGH when doing SWR calibration
Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
I have a connex cx3300hp i need to know the vr
i have a 10k on a quad mag mount my radio is a galaxy 98vhp peaked and tuned and i talk every where i key on base stations no problem that antenna is a beast you have some issues goin on over there u need to get that tuned i have a flat 1.0 and i run around 250 true watts and my swr never goes past 1.1 you wanna be loud n talk tune that puppy right biggest thing for them is ground best thing is to run it on a huge magnet best ground there is and you have to have good coax that has alot to do with it just tiny little things you have to check make sure everything is set up correctly
3300hp how many watts output, what swr/ power
That style will get about 60w PEAK.. on older styles.. the newer Mosfets will do about 30-40ish..
Meters, are preference.. most are just RMS styles. and you wont see the Peak reading which is fine. there are alot of meters and brands.. Bird, Dosy, MFJ, Siltronix. they all have pros / cons.
if just want simple workman makes some lower end styles. also para dynamics..
there are some MFJ and other brands that have cross needles that show both power and swr at same time. but they will start in the $60ish range and go up from there.
Radio want stop scanning
your keyboard membrane is needing cleaned with IPA you must have spilled coke or pepsi or somthing conductive on its membrane so i would just look to replace it you need to perhaps replace some capacitors in the controller board section {mpu for it} i think dry caps cause this esp low value ones around the mpu
My connex 3300 wont transmit
Plug in an external speaker to the pa jack ... Switch the band selector to pa and see if you hear yourself... No? Bad audio chip
I want my talk back louder on my connex 3300hp
- Under the top cover of the radio is the solder side and a 440 Kilo Ohm resistor (See Pic)
- More resistance will quite the talk back. Less resistance will make it louder. You will need to experiment a bit to find the level that suits you. I would start with a 200 Kilo Ohm.
- This is for the more common Connex with the knob that has an adjustment for echo/talkback. If you have the other on then say so and I will direct you for that one.
- If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
- Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.
Regards,Tony
Power problems power stays on cant transmit or recieve
the power switch is fused shut you need to replace it and also the 5v logic supply regulator has failed perhaps this prob means there is no supply too the PLL and logic
this can all be caused by poor quality cheep power switched employed in every cb ive ever serviced rubbish and cruddy so check for all voltages and when and where you need them work from this
then youll quickly find the issue
NO TRANSMITT
failed driver final transistors or voltage supply to driver and final
if your RX is aok then chances are the PLL and TX mixers etc are aok leaving only the first answer or a broken mic or TX switching circuit caused prob by a bad mic cable
