Panasonic PT-52LCX66 Projection Television - Page 8 Questions & Answers
My panasonic pt-52lcx66 it wont turn on what can i do myself
yes they do; They have glass fuses than have the thin wire running across on the inside. If the wire isn't running all the way across the fuse or is broken, then it is junk. If fuses is good, then power supply may be faulty which is quite common these days with newer electronics

My 52
Remove the Lamp and look for a white fog inside. It is bad if it looks that way.
If thats not it, Call a good TV Tech to troubleshoot the problem. Lightning can do about anything to electronics.

Exactly same problem just happened today!
I had this problem happen to me today. What i did was unplug the tv for an hour and when i plugged it back in, the first time setup appeared on the tv. The remote and the tv buttons worked fine after that. Hopefully that works for you too.

No screen at all, does not come on.
If you haven't replaced the lamp yet, that is the first thing to try. Its not hard to do at all.
You can get the lamp just about anywhere on the web.
Here is a link to one site
http://lamps-dlp.com/ProductDetail.asp?PartNumber=TY-LA1001&A=G&B=LA1001
Here is the procedure for replacing the lamp.
Unplug the unit from the wall and wait for all the lights to stop blinking. Ensure that the lamp and the area around the lamp has cooled.
Remove the front cover of the set. You should be able to see the lamp door at this time, loosen the screw and remove the door. You will now have access to the lamp, loosen the lamp screws and remove the lamp cartridge. Reverse the above process and you should be back in business.
For the full instructions and how to reset the lamp timer go to the following site

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Panasonic 52LCX65\PT Green Spot
Good Day;
It sounds like the DLP may have a bad light engine (optical block), if so call the factory's customer service rep and ask for a concession, it is a very costly repair and they will normally cover. Call a factory authorized service dealer to confirm your concern.
Good Luck, big irish.

CD Player is not working.
The problem is with your remote. Its not getting the signal, that is why the screen shows " - - - - " and not playing anything.
Try using the play button on the CD player, if it works, then we can confirm that the problem is with your players remote.
REMOTE TROUBLESHOOTING :
The remote control could be bad and the most likly trouble maker. If you can't get the universal remote to at least turn on and off the set, then most likly you have problem in the remote sensor circuit, all the way up to the microprocessor IC. The proper way to trouble shoot this circuit would be to connect up an isolation transformer to the A/C plug on the TV set, and then get a ocilliscope, and start to trace the remote sensor data output from the sensor. If the signal looks distorted or very low or is not present at the remote sensor data output, check the b+ going to the remote sensor. Most of time it is 5 volts. Some sets a little higher. If the data signal is present and looks strong, trace the signal along the Printed circit board. Thru all the jumpers ,capacitors, ect., up to the input to the microprocessor. If the signals good all the way to the processor ,sorry to say the IC is bad. If it turns out you need a remote try 1-800-remotes or http://www.remotes.com.
I hope that solves your Problem, If so kindly accept it.
Thank You,
Arjun.

Lamp is blown off
The PT52LCX66 Comes with a one year factory warranty. In most cases the bulb is a normal wear and tear item and would not be covered. (Kind of like the batteries in the remote). I can tell you if you are past a year you will have to buy a bulb and there are some good prices on-line. Approx $100-$300 for the bulb which usally lasts on average about 3-5 years. If you are still with in the one year factory warranty, you can call panasonic and give a good arguement. (Not if in a commercial setting)

Panasonic pt 52lcx66 won't turn on
Sounds like the light engine. Is this a DLP or LCD rear projection? Did you see any patches of color any time before the problem with the really dark screen. Please rate my answer and let me know what other questions, Tech Malick

My Panasonic PT-52LCX66 popped and cracked
His prices sound a little steep. Most ballast boards un $100-$200 Labor and service call should be $250-300. If you are bringing the TV to him, it should be less. Check with Panasonic for an authorized servicer in your area for a quote and maybe a little help with the cost of repairs. Sometimes, the manufacturer will agree to cover the part cost or more, so call them!
