CD Player shuts off
Since it is in a boat you may have some slight water damage. You should take it in to be cleaned very soon. The longer you wait the worse it will get if this is the problem.
if you are planning on fixing it yourself you wil need to take it apart completley (be careful and don't force anything out) and look it over for any little bit of corrosion on both sides of the main board.
If you do not have the proper chemicals to clean it, you can use isoproyl alcohol and an old toothbrush to clean any corrosion on the board. You may also need some solder joints reflowed as well.
They do have a protection circuit, but there is no way to disable it easy. You would need to lift the proper pin (87 & 89 on IC1) on the microprocessor, but that is not a good idea ever. They go into protect to minimize any damage that could be caused. It would also be a fire hazard if it does not shut down when these things are detected.
If this is not the problem, you may need the amp IC replaced or you may have a speaker that is starting to go bad.
"DCER" flashing....
That is a DC error.
What happened and why?
amp IC is fried, probably from overheating playing at very loud level. Maybe from a speaker going bad, maybe just random part failure
Is this fixable?
Yes
How do i fix it?
You must get the replacement part, take the radio apart, remove the solder from the amp ic, put new IC in and resolder connections. Put radio back together without forgetting anything you took apart. Also need to make sure the soldering is good, no solder bridges or anything like that (you wouldn't want to blow it up again right after replacing it)
How do i prevent this from happening again?
If it was caused by playing too loud for too long, don't turn volume up to point of hearning any distortion, that is clipping in the amp you hear and is very ******* amplifier ic.
If it happened from a speaker going bad you must replace the bad speaker.
If it was a random part failure there is not much you can do, you had some bad luck, thats all.
If you do not know how to remove solder and to solder very good, it is reccomended that you take it in for service, but it may not be worth it since this unit is not very exspensive. A shop may charge as much as $100 for this repair. part alone is about $30 or $40.
If you want to know the part number please reply and I will look it up for you, or you can get the generic number off the ic itself.
Protect!
Your audio amplifier IC is damaged you gotta change it.

sorry about the delay I was on holiday, if you haven't solved the problem yet I would suggest that you check that you are getting both power supplies (red and yellow) and if not the first thing to do is check the fuses in the car. Let me know if your'e still having problems.
Time
To set the clock, you need to be in standby mode. Push and hold the B. Boost/menu button. Menu will show up. Use the RT knob up and down until you find "CLCK". Then push the RT knob down until the clock and ADJU shows up. Use the RT control to adjust the time. In normal mode to show and hide the clock, hold down the RT knob.
Adding new speakers to the deck
You need to know if these are Pizo tweeters or dome tweeters. If Pizo just hool them up to the white and gray wires off the kenwood. if not, then you should go to your local stereo shop and by bass blockers (small capacitors will do). this is only to "erase" the ohm load. once you have those inline of the POSITIVE wire you can hook the up to the gray and white wires. Good luck hit me back

There is a YELLOW wire that needs to be connected to a constant + 12 volt source when the vehicle is off.
Best of Luck.

make sure none of the speaker+/- wires are contacting each other. if even one of them does, most likely all the sound will cut out to protect the internal amplifier. Other than that, the blue/white remote wire is most likely your problem, if the car has some sort of factory amp thats the wire that tells it to turn on and let sound through. its possible that the outputs of the deck are bad, try checking it with a test speaker or in another car
In my 1995 Chevy Lumina
check if you're getting power to the red and the yellow, it may be that you are only getting a permanent live but no switched live and if so you will need join the red and yellow on the radio side together using the connectors on the loom so you will have one permanent live leading into two (red and yellow) wires into the radio. clear as mud, good luck
