What does the code UE mean?

it means "unbalance error". sometimes if you do a small load everything goes to one side and causes unbalanced condition. If you have one heavy and some light clothes can do same.

Soapy smell in clothes

You might need to wash your washing machine.

Most consumers think they are doing what is *normally* the right thing to do, which is to follow directions on the detergent label. In this rare case--those directions should be entirely disregarded.

Additionally--in many LG washers--the liquid dispenser cup (blue cup) has a "MAX" line on the white siphon cap.
This was a very big *faux pas* on LG's part--this "MAX" line has NOTHING to do with measuring detergent and should never be used as a guide for determining correct detergent amount.
The "MAX" line indicates how much liquid must be in the blue dispenser cup before it DISPENSES from the bottom of the cup.
This is a very, very frustrating mistake that gives owners much grief.

After three months of incorrect type of detergent or incorrect amount of the correct detergent used--musty odor begins to occur.
After more than two years--a significant amount of soap scum/curd has accumulated in the washer. Odor-causing bacteria flourishes on this build-up.
It is imperative to remove this slimy residue. Tide sells a product called "TIDE WASHING MACHINE CLEANER" which is very effective if used the proper way:

Once a tub has become heavily contaminated--normal methods of performing a TUB CLEAN cycle won't "cut it".

Add the entire packet of "TIDE WASHING MACHINE CLEANER" directly into the tub (no laundry) and close the door.

Press and hold: SPIN SPEED & SOIL LEVEL buttons--then press POWER button.
Wait for door to lock.

Press the START button (6) times--this will fill the tub with hot water to the maximum setting when it stops filling.

Press the START button two more times--this will enable the tub to tumble.
After 3 hours--turn "off" the washer.
Turn the washer back "on".
Select the shortest wash cycle (usually "quick wash") and press "START". This will rinse out the tub.
This method of "TUB CLEAN" is *not* from a service manual but has been the best method for cleaning out LG washers more than a year into incorrect detergent usage.

After this--use the correct amount of "HE" detergent & perform a "TUB CLEAN" cycle every (4) months using the *tub clean* option on the control panel.
Got that? LOL

Won't finish washing displays IE

Check your water frequency level it is below 26 you will get the inlet error. Here is something you can try:
When you press the "SPIN SPEED" button and "SOIL LEVEL" button the water level frequency should be above 246. If it is below that number remove the top; find the small tube going to the main control on the backside and blow it out. Get rid of the sediment and reconnect tightly. Pump out water and retry.

Clean out dog hair from washer rubber gasket

Hello. yes. The ring is simply friction fit into a groove in the machine. That said, it is still easier to use a liquid multipurpose cleaner and a cloth to clean the ring where it is. J.

What does oe mean on my washing machine display

Hi,
"OE" code in your washer indicates a Drain error. This is because the washer is not fully drained within 10 minutes. You have to check whether there is a kink in your drain hose, ensure the filter is clean, the drain hose can become clogged with sludge, sometimes a hot wash with 1/2 a cup of vinegar will remove this sludge.
Thank you !!

The washing machine makes a sound like plastic gears are striped

Hi,
Check that the water supply valves are turned on
Also check for the water inlet valve connects the hot and cold water lines from your home to the back of the washer. The solenoids on the valve open one or both valves to provide the proper water temperature for the wash cycle. If the valves are blocked or the solenoids do not activate, the symptoms may include no water, low water pressure, the wrong water temperature or water entering the tub even when the machine is off. The water inlet valve can be identified by the water hoses connected to it at the back of the washer. Start by turning off the water supply at the valves on the wall. Disconnect both hoses from the back of the washer. Place the hoses into a bucket and turn them on to confirm that you are getting good water pressure and to clear out any debris from the line.
Inspect the filter screens on both the hoses and the inlet valve for debris build up. If you find any debris, clean it out. Use caution to avoid damaging the filter screens because the screens in the valve are not replaceable. If debris was not present then proceed to the next step of testing the solenoids. Access to the valve may be easiest by opening the top or the back of the washer, depending upon make and model.
Thank you!!

Foul smell inn LG Washer

you need to remove the inner wash drum and clean out the outer drum of ALL the soap and softener in the outer drum so it can drain properly, as it has started growing mold/mildew in the outer drum, also while it is out clean the door seal boot and make sure the drain boot hole is clear too that drains to the outer drum so it can all go down the drain, then put it back together and hot wash an empty tub in hot water and bleach

LG front loaded washing machine vibrates during

If its on a pedistal then that will raise your center of gravity and cause the unit to be less sturdy during a spin. It could also be due to a weak floor. You may want to try a product called "shake away pads". The probably sell them at like home depot or lowes. They will run you about 40 bucks but they just go under the legs and help absorb some shock. Good luck _MJ_

MY newerfront load lg machine smells like mildew leaving clothes

Front load washers are very efficient but can create odors not common in top load machines. I would suggest running a cleaner such as Affresh or Smelly washer through the machine, there are instructions on the containers but basically you run a load without clothes on the hottest settings. This will help eliminate the mildew that gets caught between the tub and basket. A treatment once a month will do wonders!

You can purchase these at Target, Lowes or grocery stores near the laundry soaps.

How hard is it to replace a faulty water valve on

Not difficult. Unplug power cord. and remove screws which hold the top down. These are under the rear lip of the machine. Remove top by (probably) bumping the top towards the rear to unclip the front. Expose the inlet valve before you buy a new one because it could be a double (or triple) Make sure you replace the hoses and wires one at a time so you don't mix them up! ....Nomess
