Rowenta DG5030 Iron Questions & Answers
Why is my linen dress shiny after ironing at the linen setting?
The fine fibres at the surface of linen stand up like the bristles on a brush. Light coming into the fibres gets trapped. When you iron the linen, you flatten the fine fibres. Incoming light no longer gets trapped in the spaces between the fibres and instead is reflected (bounced back) like on a mirror. That is why linen looks shiny after ironing. To prevent this, use a damp cloth on top of your linen when ironing. This will flatten (iron) the linen material but not compress the fine fibres. Good look.
I am having issues with my steam generator iron. I
I think lime and calcification are the culprit. Use some "CLR" at Home depot, can decalcify the build up on your irons pressure cap.
I have the Rowenta Steam Station. Love it!

Switch not working hoe can i replace
Good evening Melinda!
You can look here for replacement parts
Rowenta DG5030U0 B80 Pro Master Iron Parts , (amongst others), and a closer look at the 'Housing, front complete'
Housing Front Complete shows it includes an on/off switch.
It's not a 100% match, but this video showing dis-assembly / troubleshooting another Rowenta iron will probably get you to where you need to to replace the part (and might allow you to see if it's just a disconnected/broken wire and save the $17 for the part!)
Hope this helps, and good luck!

The iron is still working but the water not hot
There is most likely a build-up of minerals around the steam holes. Minerals are in ordinary tap water. The coat the heating surfaces, act like an insulator and prevent iron from getting hot. Clean the hot plate with a fine needle or other fine object and then put in a mixture of vinegar and water and let it steam out. To prevent future mineral build-up, use half distilled water and half tap water. If you can't get distilled water, use ordinary drinking water you can buy from your supermarket (it also cheaper). Don't use 'all' distilled water as it boils (steams) at higher temperature and could ruin your iron. Good luck.
Dg5030 steam is not working
Sounds like you may have a buildup of calcium in the water line. Try putting in some LimeAway and letting it sit overnight to clear it out. The drain the LimeAway out refilll and steam a few times on scrap cloth to get all of the cleaner out, see id that solves the problem.
