Hi,

If this is the first time you are connecting to a wireless router, consider using a wired Ethernet link rather than a Wi-Fi link. Your Ethernet connection will keep working even if you haven't finished configuring or accidentally break the Wi-Fi settings.

To setup your wireless network, perform the following steps:

1.Disconnect or turn off your broadband modem.

2.Connect the wireless router to the broadband modem through a network cable and then turn it on. You will have to plug in the network into a port called Internet, WAN or WLAN. The naming convention varies according to the manufacturer. The other ports on the router are for sending and receiving information to other devices on the wireless networks.
3.You can now connect to the internet via the router with the help of the wireless network card installed on your pc or laptop. The wireless card on the computer has to be turned on for it to recognize and connect to the wireless network.
You can check if the wireless network has been successfully setup by accessing the default router address via a web browser. You will be prompted for a username and password. After you have entered the default username and password, you will be directed to the routers configuration page. For your router, please use the address 192.168.1.1 Username "admin" and password "admin" (without the quotes).

i had that problem with another adapter, then i figured out that i was having problems with another pci adapter. so if you have another pci at the same time, try unplugging it and left the wmp300n alone, it worked for me

on any standard UNSECURED router, all you should have to do is click connect under "Network connections" in Control Panel. However, if the wireless router you would like to connect to is SECURED (password protected), you will just need to type in the password required in the connections when prompted.

This is assuming the other computer you are trying to add is wireless capable.

it dosen`t matter it keeps on blinking, it suggests that its working fine, if at all it stops blinking that suggest that the data is not transferring through that, it means its not working.

To find out the WEP key, you will need to access the router setup.
once you access the router setup then you will be able to locate the WEP key.

Best solution to use computer with internet in another location download the driver put into flash/thumb drive. You can download it from http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/

Is your router from linksys also? How many wireless computers do you have? Note that if you encrypt your router, you need to make sure that each wireless computer gets the exact encryption keys you will use on the router. Usually the linksys router page can be accessed via http://192.168.1.1. Leave username blank, password is "admin". Go to Wireless >> Wireless Security. Select WEP-128 key. Enter in a passphrase and hit generate. Copy key #1 on a piece of paper (make sure it's 26 characters) and click apply. Next, go to each wireless computer and use encryption key#1 when you connect to the linksys router.

Disable or uninstall the Linksys software that manages and monitors the connection.

Use instead the Microsoft Windows Wireless configuration utility.

That's what I did and didn't get problem after.

may be your router needs a firmware upgrade.
check the router's website.

and make sure the router and the wireless card are both using the same 802.11 protocol

your Wifi is not Enable Yet,

you have to login into your Linksys and go to Wi-fi and Enable your Mac address for your Router..

If it says local or unidentified network that means you are just connected to the router on the network but not through the internet. Try to go to manage wireless network, remover your network there and add it again, connect to your own network and make sure to type the correct network key., then check again. You can also try connecting to other wireless network to further isolate the problem.

Usually our CPU is on the floor or under the table, the common problem is signal, try to put your CPU on the table to roam a wider range. if still not much signal, just change your antenna with a better one.

Unplug the power cables of the router and the range extender for 30 seconds. Plug in the router first. Wait for all the lights to be stable then plug in the range extender. Your range extender should now be in synchronized with your router.
