Hi, I pluged my hp express card into my computer,

First verify that the TV tuner device and driver are listed in Device Manager. If you see the device there but is has a explanantion mark and says that the device is not working properly then try removing the device from the device manager and uninstall the software. Then re-boot the computer. When the computer restarts the found new hardware wizard should come up. If it may automatically install the device driver if it does not and asks for the device driver try letting it search the internet for the driver. If it does not find the driver then cancel the installation and try re-installing the downloaded software again(make sure it is the correct software for your OS and device). It should install and recognize the device. If the device manager shows a problem with the device again then try to update the driver from the devivce manager manually and see if the driver is located in the installation folder for the HP express software. Let me know if that works or what you find so I can assist you further.

Antenna

There are 6 gold prongs that come together at the end of the cable that plugs into the express card...use a fingernail or sharp object to delicately bend each one of these outward just a tiny bit. This will make a more snug fit.

My computer doesn't detect the tuner.

Right click My Computer and click properties. Go to hardware tab and then the device manager. Check if there is a yellow mark against any entry. If there is then it may be your new expresscard. Right click this entry and update driver pointing where the driver is.

My cable rf on my tv broke off is there anyway i

If you have video/audio inputs 1 yellow, 1 red 1 white, then you can purchace a HD converter box and use that box to attach the rf cable and then input the RCA jacks from the Converter to the TV.
Good Luck

Play & Record VHS through TV Tuner Card

You need to connect the ariel to the vcr, then the vcr to the card, using a male/female fly lead. Then I suggest putting an origional film tape into the vcr, press play on the vcr and then scan in the channels on the card. It should pick up the vcr's output of the film that is playing.

Audio Videio Cable

In QuickPlay, AV input is under media (the Icon that shows headphones, movie reel, and photos), not under TV (Icon of monitor). Why they put it there, I have no idea, but that's where I found it. BTW, I'm running QuickPlay 3.7 v.6112

Is there such a thing as a co-ax cable to input converters?

Before you go that far, realize that the cable itself may be the problem. Usually poor picture quality can be traced to poor cable connections. Also, another possibility is poor connections inside the tuner of the set. I assume that you are using a cable box. Some of the newer boxes have direct video connections which will connect as you describe. Check the condition of all of the cables and connectors before yo invest in anything.

Keep us posted.

HP Express Card Digital / Analog not working

First thing I tried to do was to install the drivers that came into the CD didn't work, just using mydvd9 the import/aqcuire option I could have some noise signal, but couldn't find a way to select channels and hanged after a while. This is too trickier, I thought, it should be a way to used quickplay and other applications.

I couldn't get anything from HP site so investigating I found the following.

1) Had to upgrade quickplay to latest version (is pretty cool btw)
2) The card internally is a Hauppage and found that is actually the HVR1500 http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hvr1500.html.
Drivers + application can be downloaded at http://www.hauppauge.com/site/support/support_hvr1250.html

3) After upgrading quickplay and installing drivers and application from hauppage, Quick play had additionally an hp digital tv tuner entry, but here in canada there is no digital signal transmitted through antenna.
4) I have reinstalled manually the drivers that came in the CD, but from the c:\swsetup\HP Digital tv tuner folder
5) After this I had at quickplay a second source "Hp Analog Tv tuner" which allowed me to caputure the regular air signal and wintv worked as well

I'm sure that I did some redundant steps, but it worked and now can I have everything working (quickplay, wintv, digital, analog signals)

Hope this helps and btw I haev uploaded the manuals for thouse who can't get it, since HP doesn't have them in the website.

Cheers

Webcam

Hi!

Use AmCap to view your webcam without using YM. You can download the software at this site:

http://amcap.en.softonic.com/ .

You cannot use AmCap and YM at the same time , so exit AMCap if you will use your webcam with Yahoo.

Good luck and have a nice day!
