You copier does not use ink, but toner. And because the "ink" detector is on, it could be the toner cartridge is empty. Try to remove the toner cartridge and shake it firmly. than replace it. This could help for a few copies, but you must order new toner, if the sheets of paper keep coming up blank.

MP 1600L copier/printer produces print-outs with small toner dots spread over the paper. How can I solve this problem?

SC 320 - Polygon motor error.The polygon motor does not reach its operating speed within 10 sec. after the polygon motor on signal,or the lock signal is not detected for more than 40 ms continuosly during operation.Possible causes polygon motor defective,poor conection of the interface harness which connects the polygon motor driver and the IOCSS board, IOCSS bboard defective.The SC can be reset by turning the main switch OFF and ON if the SC was caused by a sensor error.To reset SC press yellow key 1 - 0 - 7 and STOP ( red ) key for 3 seconds,enter in the SP mode, enter SP 5-810 ( SC code reset) and select "1".Then hold down the Photo mode key and the # key at the same time for at least 3 seconds(this does not require the main switch to be turned off and on).

I take it you have installed a new toner???? Do oyu know the last time the drum & developer unit was replaced?? It is sold as a unit with the developer in the unit. It is a customer part to replace. If these parts were replaced resently, the problem could be in the toner holding unit that you put the toner bottle into... There has been some up dates to that unit > they improved the fin's that moves the toner into the developer unit... Good Luck

Open the front cover and locate the waste toner bottle. Empty it out and see if that corrects the problem. If that doesn't work, clean the bottle after emptying it. If the doesn't work, replace the waste toner bottle with a new one.

How does the copy quality look?

Polygon mirror motor error/lock. Unplug the copier. Wait 20 seconds. Plug it back in. See if that makes it go away.

Otherwise you should get a hold of a service technician but getting parts for a 250 is very tough. It could be the polygon motor, the power supply, a cable, or a board. It will take some time to troubleshoot.

Changing the Drum does not affect the scanner settings.
You can print because your PC (computer) can see your machine but for scanner is the oposit. The machine must see your PC.
I think that in this machine you have an SD card with the scanner funtion. Try to take it off and then put it on again. (the SD card is on its side. In the controller box)

it could be two possible solutions...
First, the toner hopper/holder is clogged with toner and the toner doesn't go trough. To solve these vacuum and clean the bottle holder and handle mechanism that grabs the bottle.

Second, check if the toner motor turns. Open the cover, in sensor holes put piece of paper to trick them and see if the toner motor is turning. If not turning replace the motor.

That is a polygon motor error.
This motor is from the Laser Unit. Probably you have to change it.
If you do not have technical training i advise you to call your provider.

sc990 has many reasons first drum unit defeactive and software on machine sluggish

Polygon motors are not serviceable items.

If the motor won't turn unless forced then you really need to get it replaced.
The bearings inside the motor can wear out causing excessive noise or seizure.

the drum unit needs replacing. i think there are marks on the drum

scan to email is not possible in AF250. that machine is very old and it does not support the email feature.
