Making unusual alerts with Ka and x bands

It could be picking up garage door openers, which are a common false alert for radar detectors. In a neighborhood, there are all sorts of sensors that give off false alarms. I usually turn mine off when driving through a neighborhood as police are less likely to be using radar (unless in a school zone).

I need a manual for

The Cobra XRS-757 is the same as the Cobra XRS-9330. The difference in model number is due to the 757 being sold at Wal-Mart stores.

Dont know waht codes mean

By Codes do you mean the X, K and Ka signals that the unit is reporting? If so, those are the 3 bands used for police radar. X is the oldest and not used very much. K is also an older band. Ka however is the newer band and the most used for speed tracking.

So is it saposed to

The detector is not just for detector the presence of persons of law enforcement variety, but it is designed to detect a range of signals, and let you know.

K/Ka/Ku - Usually Speed Radar
X - automatic door openers (99%)
Lidar - "Laser Radar"
Strobe - Detects the flashing strobes on vehicles with flashing lights (police, ambulance, warning signs, school busses equipped with strobes, etc).
Other signals / situations as mentioned in the manual.

Note that if there is a cop nearby, the detector won't be able to detect the cop unless he pulls the trigger on his radar gun (aka instant on).

In case you missed it, here is the manual.

X alerts are very likely false signals generated by automatic door openers, people / persons detectors.

K is a form of radar, be wary of these signals.

Here is the manual for your detector.

Cobra xrs-96 I want new speaker

Do you want to replace it with the same thing or are you looking to add an exterior speaker to it? It's a very simple task to do, you need to disassemble the unit and find the piezo speaker that's currently installed to the board. The part number will be listed on it. It may even have a manufacturers name on it. Once you've got the info, you can go to the manufacturers website and get the specifications for it. If you want the same, any electrical parts site will sell it. If you want to increase the volume look for a piezo with a higher efficiency rating. There's only 2 or 4 solder connections that need to be made on the board to replace the piezo. If you want to get creative, move the speaker to the headliner on the drivers side and run a wire to the unit with a small quick disconnect so you can take out the main unit with ease. parts will cost under 10 bucks to do it. Hope this helps

"K" IS LOCAL POLICE BAND, "KA" IS STATE TROOPER, AND "X" IS SILENT ELECTRONIC ALARM SYSTEMS. HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT WHAT "VA-2 ALERT" IS YET.

the fuse is located in the cigarette lighter plug, at the end you will see a silver cap and then the disk that goes over the top of it, that will turn and then you will have the front open to replace the glass fuse that is in it... to find the fuse size, after the fuse is out look at the silver ends it will have the size stamped on it... it might be a 40 amp fuse. or 20 amp. just look at the silver sides on the fuse you will find that there... hope this helps you out

Don't work

Try turning your inteli-mute off. If the inteli-mute (I-mute) is set with the RPM's too high it won't detect radar because the detector thinks you are traveling at a slow speed and detection is unnecessary. If your detector begins working, consult your owners manual to reset the I-mute limit if you want to use that option.

Help!

If you live near a cell-phone tower, your radar detector can pick up on the waves coming from it. If you like in an area where radar detectors are legal and Ku band is not used, I recommend turning off the vg2, spectre and Ku bands on your detector. This will not only cut down on some of the "noise" but also make your radar detector more reliable for when you are actually "zapped" by law enforcement.
