First off, Congratulations on such a excellent deal! That's a $500.00 turntable. I know I own a pair and I've been a DJ for 18 years.
Second, the Technics 1200 does not have an auto return. You have to pick up the needle and bring it back manually.
Im not getting any sound out of my left rca, I
You need to have your RCA's replaced. If you are technically inclined you should be able to replace them your self. All you need is a soldering kit and a screw driver, and of course a new pair of RCA cables. You can use any regular pair of RCA cables. Cut them and strip out enough wire to solder them on. If you don't want to do that, then you can have it done at the shop and they usually just charge about $30.00 if that much. There's plenty of youtube videos that walk you through the process. Check out the videos by viperfrank. His videos helped me do this and change the light on my 1200.

My tone arm has suddenly
Generally the cause is one of 3 things. 1 Damage to the stylus or dirt. 2 Lack of pressure to the stylus. 3 Anti-skate control set to low.
First check the stylus you should feel it sticking in you finger a bit. 2 Has the weight on the end of the arm become lose? Adjust for the correct tracking weight of the cartridge. 3 Check the manual for what the anti-skate control should be set to.

Drive Belt
The chances are the rubber drive belt
has either broken or stretched so that it has fallen off the drive
pulleys.
You will need to gain access to the
underside of the turntable to replace it.
With most turntables the process will
be to secure the tone arm (a rubber band will do the trick) before turning the
whole thing upside down and unscrewing the base.
Replacement drive belts are easily
available on the internet. Search by make and model number of your turntable
I have a technics 1200 mk5 and when i put a record
Years ago, Radio Shack sold a turntable with the same problem. The fix was to purchase a pre-amp to go between the turntable and the tuner/amp. I think this had something to do with a magnetic vs. ceramic cartridge?
Arm head-shell spring contact unit removal
There is no trick to this. There is no easy way to repair that, unless you have the proper tools and experience. It sounds like your a novice, because of the questions you are asking.
Here is the issue you will come across...
You'll remove the collar, and find that there are 4 very thin wires soldered to the gold contacts. Those contacts have springs behind them. If they came off, or are damaged, that's it. Technics does not sell the parts for the tonearm individually.
You will have to replace the entire tonearm. Soldering those thin wires back into their original position is extremely difficult. It's easier to replace the tonearm.
Good luck!

Brown liquid huh? A small amount may be a blown electrolytic capacitor. Take a look around for a component that's about the size of a pencil eraser and also brown. Or - just some wires where it used to be. This can happen in storage if temps are too high or low and it can just plain happen.
If there's a LOT of brown stuff, then its probably external contamination. Can you run your finger across it and give a sniff - see oily stuff on your finger? In that case, you've got a serious clean up job ahead. Tons of contact cleaner and/or alcohol and lots of careful work are in your future. DO NOT power up anything until you've totally cleaned up everything - it will only get worse if you power it up and things can short out.
