Fisher Paykel Eco IWL16 - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Everything is working then gets to spin on top load fisher and paykel and won't start
If it suddenly stops during wash cycle and a cycle stage light stays in one spot blinking, there could be a damaged sensor on the motor. The sensors themselves don't mysteriously fail though - check under the machine for signs of small water leaks. My smart drive stopped working and after removing the motor, I found a small component on the motor was corrosion damaged. Turned out the agitator shaft seals had failed and wash water had eaten into the sensor on the motor over time. I was lucky enough to have a used parts business locally that supplied me with a replacement motor. I replaced both upper and lower seals and bearings from a bearing retailer, packed the centre shaft with LOTS of grease during assembly as there was literally no grease in it (I had to descale the agitator shaft due to corrosion) and swapped the motors over. You can do this yourself but expect a struggle getting the bearings and seals to sit right in the wash bowl and then getting the agitator shaft to align - be patient and gentle as the bearing housings are embedded in plastic. All up my repair cost me $100 AUD and so far the machine has run faultlessly.
