RCA Model M50WH187 DLP TV - lamp cuts out

The lamp ballast supplies power for the lamp, and it is probably going out. You can probably find one on eBay or ShopJimmy for under $100. It looks like a little box and it will be near the lamp.

try to check first if there is a voltage input in to your ballast before replacing it. If there is a current going to your ballast and the bulb still not powering for sure the ballast is defective and you can replace it.

Very likely, the bearings on the Color Wheel have worn out and the Color Wheel assembly will need to be replaced. This is usually something that can be done by someone with a reasonable amount of technical competence, and isn't very expensive to accomplish. Many tutorials are available on YouTube, describing the process of replacing DLP projection Color Wheels.

Fan is very loud, is

Hello
Look for some external materials like hard flyes or such small and hard materials in between the leaf of the fan, which make noise. It is quite commot that flies are trapped inside it. If so, open your device and clean the fan leaf. Do it very carefully not to make it break. If there is no such materials, and still fan has sound, peel off the the label on the fan, and you can see a bush joint that comes from inside where the shaft of the fan is fitted. Put a drop of lubricatin oil and see whether it helps you. If note of this helps you, just repalce the fan with a similar one. OK.

Can I replace the bulb

The bulbs on projection tv's are typically designed to be replaced by the owner of the TV. They are a big pricey though. Do a good search online to try and get the best price. There will usually be instructions included with the replacement bulb. If not, visit RCS's website and download the manual. The unit that needs to be replace is typically located on the back of tv and secured with several screws. There will be a wiring harness to unplug and the unit will slide out. Just replace the bulb and reinstall the unit. Remember to NEVER touch the bulb itself with bare hands. Any oils from your skin can cause the bulb to prematurely burn up or even break immediatly when turned on.

I won a rca scenium

Hello. I do hope that you have gotten this resolved. But if not, here are some simple steps.

If you are at TV1, where the receiver box is located, the tv needs to be on channel 3 or 4. Depending on the cable that is running between the receiver and the tv, the tv may need to be on an input, such as video 1 or 2. If you are at the TV2 location, where there is no receiver, then the tv needs to be on channel 60 or 73.

If you are using an HDMI cable- the TV needs to be on an HDMI input
If you are using component cables-the TV needs to be on a component input usually
If you are using RCA cables-the TV usually needs to be on a VIDEO like Video 1 or2
If you are using coax cable-the TV needs to be just on channel 3 or 4.

Changed the lamp and ballast. It turns on but

The tv shuts down because the protection system of the power source detects an excessive current on one of its outputs and cuts it down.To find out the failing part that consumes extra current you will have to check the output voltages - start with the wheel motor and its power line.
And, as usual, don't forget to check all the capacitors .

My 36in flatscreen tv

Hello,

The problem with the tlevision is that either the lamp is faulty or the t-com board is bad.

First ensure that your television is not display is not turned off from the menu and there is not screen saver set up on it. if that has been confirmed, then the problem is from either of the afforementioned causes.

To check if it is the lamp, then you have to unscrew the television open then assess the lamp, if it looks burnt or broken, then you replace it with a new one, and if the lamp looks okay then it is the t-com board that needs to be replaced.

Take care and good luck
