Hello Cherize Muller, You are on the right track... actually two (2) tracks that will confound your efforts. Latitude & Longitude are only relevant to YOUR GLOBAL positioning on our tiny Planet ... To tell YOU what you can expect to see from your vantage Merely asking this question you have.. implies an initial UNDERSTANDING ... There are various "MOUNTS" (see below) that can help. Your biggest challenge: Rotating EAST The earth (at the equator)... is moving at about 1009 miles per hour... making a fix on VIEWING our OWN MOON quite a challenge... 15 rotational degrees per hour (a whole lot when you are trying to fix on a celestial point) ADD to THAT orbiting (our star) the SUN and the fact we are moving in that ORBIT at approximately 67,000 miles per hour... (completing one orbit every 365 days)... Your view is going to slowly change all year long... but the minute to minute rotation is the biggest challenge. Means that there is no snappy answer... Are you talking about the image being inverted? If yes, then there are "image erectors" that will make the view with the correct left to right, and up and down orientation. However, typically they are only used on refractor telescopes.

If you go to the Orion web site and find your telescope, usually a manual you can download is located somewhere on the same page as the telescope. The best Place to see an eclips is go up to the highest hill and then lean foawrad un till you see it

astronomical telescopes are always upside down. SCT scopes are also right\left reversed

Telescope lenses are NEVER POLISHED! However if they get extremely dirty they can be cleaned using these instructions.

The small "pin" which moves the mirror inside may have either come loose or broken. You will need to remove the focuser to find out.

You CAN focus the eyepiece-- take it outside during the day time and practice focusing on a distant object.

Make sure the end with the FOCUSER is on UP end of the tube. The mirror is the BOTTOM of the tube. Many beginners mount these scopes upside down!

Are you using Vista or Windows 7? According to the manual it only works with windows xp.

Try running this in XP compatibility mode (on windows) if you are using Windows 7.
