They have a small gauze type filter which fits in the pipe end going into the rear of the machine.
Never had a problem with any other Hotpoint machine I had fitted other than LG which showed a similar fault .
Try Using the original pipe not the LG Pipe as well to see .

washing machines do do this its all depends on the atmosphere, if it's excessive clean out the tray were you put the powder in as this is where the washer gets it air flow from, if it stays damp in there it will show on the door glass.

I don't know anyone who thinks the front loader is better except for stacking things on top of... Certainly the performance of the modern water-saving front-loader is questionable when compared to earlier models - which is why I think a wash takes much longer these days with a modern machine, I think it has to in order to be effective. My friend's new front loader can take a couple of hours to complete a programme and it is only a washer and not a waser/drier. The older washers used to take everything that could be pushed inside and the laundry would emerge smiling. These days overloading is a complete taboo and should be weighed to ensure nothing is strained. Your washer might have a fault but in the final analysis you made a contract with a retailer to, in return for a consideration, supply you with a washer to clean your laundry. The black hose is a drain. It drains the water out of the filter housing prior cleaning the filter. It has a plug in the end. Take out the plug and drain the water into a shallow pan. When done, the plugged hose just stays behind the cover.

The FE error or fault code indicates that the washer is overfilling due to a defective water inlet valve. The valve is not repairable and will need to be replaced

You need to isolate the drain pump and check the voltage at the time of the drain cycle. If no voltage is present then you need to check on the control board as it can be a failure of the drive.If voltage is present but there is no drain action then the valve pump is stuck, choked or faulty.remove and check: click on : Drain.

It is so common that the drain leaks in many ways and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose on the grip which can all cause the leak to occur. Removing and cleaning the drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can leak if there are gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

Does not spin dry

As this has a direct drive motor it is not a good sign, it's most likely that the bearing/seal has failed and allowed water to get onto the stator of the motor.

This is not needed, It has been put in place maybe because of a tendency to get blockages in your drains? These machines break up the particles a lot to assist in removing them and resulting in less pump blockages so what used to collect in older machines pumps now goes down the drain.

It appears your Pressure Switch has failed in this instance.

Water will not shut off

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Absolutely nothing problematic - the water would still be fed by the washer via the detergent tray!

I often throw detergent and calgon straight in- to my wife's annoyance 'cos she is worried that 'neat' powder would stick to places on garments and leave marks. I'm normally only washing old, dirty gardening clothes though;-0)
