Why is there no response to remote?

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Is your remote control possibly bad? Is it set to other than TV mode? Batteries? Nothing to do with lamp, but TV must turn all the way on for remote to operate anything besides power on/off. --Remote is a function of TV microprocessor.

The lamp unit is most likely bad but other things can cause this, age of set: average life on a lamp is 2000 hours or two years.

Air flow error message again and again....

A few of these sets did have a issue, the lamp cartridge had some fine metal mesh around a few places where the airflow from the cooling fan contacts it, that mesh if there gets blocked with dust and will give this error as it is really the set detecting the lamp temp is too high.If you find that, clean the mesh free of dust, careful not to drive the dust inside onto the lamp face itself.Other than that dust on the fan that cools the lamp can slow the fan just a little and the set will detect this also.

Wtf... wd-y57 change out the bulb. timer light blinks for a min.. then lamp light strats blinking tv wont come on HELP

If you did not have this issue before replacing the lamp remove it and look to see the socket it plugs into is not bent or damaged (it is possible when inserting to not get the two pins lined up correctly. The lamp cartridge has to be installed precisely so it plugs into the socket and also the lamp door must be closed and secured.

I have Mitsubishi WDY57.

Susie, try removing the lamp assembly, and blowing out the ventilated area on the lamp assembly housing. i had this issue on my wd-y57 recently and that solved it.(mine was really packed with dust...) i made sure to hold in the system reset button after doing this (located in the controls panel on the front of the tv) but not sure if that is necessary.

Bought 3 bulbs for tv

You probably have a bad lamp ballast. You should buy one of those off e-bay and replace it.

I replaced the lamp however

with that model after the tv shuts off pres the "menu" and "device" button on the front panel buttons together for about 8 seconds and then the power led will blink green. it will blink a certain number of times then pause and blink a different number of times this will be the error code for the fail that the tv thinks it is having. for example it may blink green 6 times then pause and blink 1 more time that would be code 61 check the code and repost and i will tell you the next course of action good luck

Sometimes the lamp warning lamp comes on instead

Hello,

Thanks for choosing fixya.

The problem you have here with the lamp warning light could be a sign that the bulb needs replacement soon or you have a bad sensor on the lamps ballast.

I am glad your able to get the TV to come on and do hope its nothing major as it does not seem to be anything major.

You might want to ether get a estimate on the sensor itself or purchase the part effected.

Here is a list of parts available for your TV http://www.partstore.com/Model/Mitsubishi/Mitsubishi/WDY57.aspx?SearchTerm=True

if your less experienced with repair and need further assistance we do have chat sessions that run $20 bucks witch we can help you if you have the part in hand with a step by step procedure to save you even more cash. But if you rather not do it yourself you might want to consult a local tv shop. Please present your zip code and I can look up some local help for you if needed.

VERY IMPORTANT

You never want to open the back of the TV, unless you are certain you can handle it on your own. Most cases here its a sensor that is past its prime or the bulb might be the case.

Thanks for choosing fixya.com I hope this was Very Helpful for you. Btw, I’m available to help over the phone in case u need at https://www.6ya.com/expert/edwy_1a56970cf1ea4620

The contrast and brightness would have reset and so you can try and change the settings to increase to your desire.
the other possibility can be that the power supply is slightly low and casuing a reduction.
