LG refrigerator Ice build up in the bottom freezer
Check the seal in the freezer, if it is leaking outside moisture can get in as well as cause things to defrost near the leak. Also make sure the contents aren't blocking the door to where the seal is leaking. If this is all OK then perhaps the fan units fan is not pulling the moisture out. It does tend to build up in most freezers a bit anyway. also

Your fan is iced over needs to be cleaned out. Take everything out of the freezer including the drawers and remove the back panel. You will find the fan motor in the upper section full of ice. Melt all the ice out of it and replace everything back together. Pull the plug to reset the computer and everything will return to normal.
BE CARE NOT TO DAMAGE REFRIGERANT LINES.
Good luck
I actually have an LG LFD23860, but that
I can't find your model number but, somewhere in the back of the fridge, you should see a cylindrical valve, which is the water solenoid, and, that should be attached to the fridge with a metal bracket. On the top of the valve is where you will find the capped threaded fitting that you will insert your tubing with nut and ferrell into. Maybe, in your glossary, you can find the solenoid with a page number and a picture reference. Re-check your model number and if you have mistakenly given the wrong model number, let me know and I will try to help you further.

Build up of ice on bottom of LG fridge freezer
See details athttp://www.fixya.com/support/t1492965-lg_frost_free_fridge_freezer_gr_399sq
I had the same problem - took out the back panel. Some firm pulling is required as there is a clip just below and to the right of the lower screw as well as some small retaining 'bumps' on the side and a pair of 'dragon's teeth' retainers at the top. Pull at the bottom and let it drop down.
Took out the next panel - after defrosting at the bottom with a hair dryer - clips on side near bottom and encourage it to drop down a little and unplug fan unit.
Bottom tray was solid with ice - hair dryer again until drain hole was cleared to allow melt water to discharge into tray below heat exchanger in the rear compartment for evaporation.
There appears to be a U-shaped heating element - 4 ohms - below the freezing coils. Presumably this is intended to melt any ice. I suspect that this may not be operating efficiently if at all.
As it took about 8 years to get into this state, I propose to check that the outlet into the back is free every year or so and defrost if necessary
No Part Number
Hi,
The part number for those filter`s is 5231JA2005A. However, you likely won`t be impressed with the price...it retails for approx. $130-$140, yikes, I know !
That is at searspartsdirect on-line, you may want to check around, but I checked a few places and it seemed pretty comparable. I have no vested interest for sears part`s, I just use them alot for my part need`s.
Hope that answer`s your question at least. Let me know if we can assist further here at fixya.
Good luck.

The bottom of my lg french door bottom freezer
Hi, The defrost drain is plugged. UNPLUG the refrigerator. Remove the rear inside panel in the freezer section and locates the drain hole below the evaporator coils. You will have to melt the ice in the drain hole and flush it out with hot water.
I hope this helps you. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

Lg frost free fridge freezer gr-399sq
on the back wall inside the freezer unscrew the white panel and then remove the panel behind this . you should now see a tray that runs the width of the freezer with a driphole on the left-hand side which will probably be frozen with ice , chip away whatever is possible and then put boiling water on the driphole and once this is clear you should find the problem sorted , 1 other option is to turn the fridge/freezer off for several days and this will allow the ice build-up to thaw thus resolving the problem
Noisy LG Fridge Freezer
most likely the evaporator fan is hitting some ice that has formed on the mounting shroud. You will have to defrost the unit by leaving it off over night. Also what contributes to this broblem is the location of the temp sensors. they should be checked that they are in the holders for them and not buried into the foam insulation. There is on in the ref on the top of the liner and one in the freezer. These pop off. remove them from the foam and insert them into the holders. If you can't do this then it may be wise to use a service person to do check it.
Ice in freezer compartment
Check to see if your drain tube is clear. Sometimes it freezes up at the base of the rear cover in these bottom freezers. Causing an ice dam.
