I have exactly the same issue. The door normally locks, but doesn't do anything on wash.

Re-word your question please. No internal lint filter. If you mean it turns but does not heat then the safety switch burned out and no longer allows the heat strips to operate. This problem is generally caused by a clogged or nearly clogged exhaust hose. Replacing the switch can be tricky on some models but some can be done by removing the front panel others by removing panel and belt and drum. That's when you call an expert.

Check the drain pump. There may be a coin, hairclip , button etc stuck in the blades of the pump. If the machine cant pump out, it wont go through the cycle.

Remove the top and loosen the clamp around the spin tub. Remove the two screws on the hinge on the door to get it out of the way. remove the clamp around the diaphram in the door. This will require 3 arms and a trained monkey! Seriously, get 2 screwdrivers andat least one pair of pliers as this is hard! Slip a screwwdriver under the ring between the rubber folds. Slip another one opposite from this one and use a pliers to pull the ring free. Its hard but you can do it. Reverse the process when installing the new one. Make sure you have already aligned the inside up top for the air vent for the dry tube. Use a zip tie to seal that part around the dryer vent tube. Tighten the inside clamp before putting the ring back on the front! Have fun!

Look under the machine for a bag with the manual & trouble charts Has to be a failed timer or circuit board Won't be easy to figure out, until you study the wiring diagram & I doubt more than 10 folks in a million can understand basic electricity Before you call for service, which takes two weeks to arrive, ask at an appliance parts store what fails the most with that problem

to do what you are saying is to remove controler and by pass every thing with individual switches would work in a fashion but is not feasable best dump it now or repair propely for safety reasons remember a life is worth more than any money when playing with electric and water repair or get new dont take chances a family menber is is loved and would be missed

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Maybe fan is not working properly, or restricted vent in the first place, causing it not to flow properly and lint gets hung up. Is vent hose fairly straight or does it go around a lot of curves?

Is motor running? Maybe a broken belt? If motor does not run at all maybe door switch is not working.

Might be that the pump mechanism is stopped due to a foreign object (hairclip etc) Ours stopped the other day and it was just a hairclip. Working perfectly now.

If the drain pump is cleaned and you think it is working fine then it is the door lock assembly that should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
