I cannot get my mails from google as I have been hacked and changed my password and told them that I have been hacked.

Hi Gerda Hacked! Who would have thought Google could be hacked! A lot of people are becoming aware that anything connected with google is monitored, collected and available to the internet. G Search, gmail, FBook etc is being monitored at least by the NSA if not also cracked by others. Aviator.app & TorBrowser.app are a secure free browser for the Mac... if you need it. If you have been hacked then it is usually because your password and username has been figured out. Rethink what you are using for the above. Using an Email address for a username is pretty easy to figure. So make you password stronger by making a silly sentence with the odd Uppercase character & a number in the middle. Check the strength here: http://www.passwordmeter.com/ Secure Browsers Tor Browser The WhiteHat Aviator Web Browser Storing all your Passwords & Personal Info SplashID Password Manager

I cant work out how to upload onto my imac,

Hi Andrew Guess it's a bit late now.... 3 Months But I guess no one tackled this as it is not clear what you mean by "Upload" Please be specific if you want a problem solved as it often is a whole lot easier via voice communications. But we have to use TEXT. Text requires that you outline all the specific detail of your problem. So.... A computer can upload from many sources.... So... What were you trying to upload and from where! I use iTunes to upload to my iPhone or iPad The apps that I collect from the App Store via iTunes on the Computer is UPLOADED to my iPhone. I Upload Maps to my Navigation device... It can be done via USB or FireWire or Ethernet cable Cheers

How can I logout of FB on an imac?

Hi Maggie Whether it's a Mac or a Windows PC FaceBook Log On/Off has nothing to do with the OS Software. You are using a Browser... Either Safari or FireFox or some other Browser. Therefore you are on a Web Page that is created by/for FaceBook. If FaceBook makes it difficult to log out.... don't worry about it.... just move on to a new site like https://duckduckgo.com/ which incidentally does not Track You when searching ...... "The search engine that doesn't track you" If your not happy with their Web Page Layout then complain to FaceBook via the feedback button on their own website. I personally won't use them as they track your every word for future reference. But then Hopefully you are aware of this. Cheers

How to repair a mother board with overvoltage? I would like to repair it.

Up to my knowledge, when the computer's motherboard burns out, it can't be repaired. If you feel you have the technical knowledge to do it, welcome. I don't believe anyone in Fixya can guide you how to do it.

Why can't I attach my keynote presentation to my gMail account?

If there is too much data in the presentation it may well go over the acceptable file size limitations in Gmail. The max you can send in an email is 20MB. If it is larger than this and compressing it to a zip file doesn't help (you can do this by right clicking {or ctrl click} on it and selecting Compress "Filename") I would recommend using a service such as WeTransfer or HighTail to send it.

Why can't I open email on my iMac but can open it with my Windows laptop?

Hi Michael Email on your iMac is accessed through Apple Mail application. OR... Using a Browser to access the Email Server. Try Opening MAIL / Preferences / Accounts / Account Information. There may be incorrect info in here. Best to write the settings down on paper OR CMD SHIFT 4 This takes a snapshot of a "cursor selected area" and saves it to the desktop. (Cmd Sh 3 does whole screen) Check both Incoming & Outgoing Settings If necessary (e.g. corrupt settings) you can Delete the email account & start clean Add a New Account. A new Account will pre test the connection and put tick marks ? to indicate a good connection. You can get the correct settings from your Win Laptop Good Luck

How can 8 get rid of A pop up that froze safari on my Mac ?

If you don't have a second backup browser (like Firefox or Chrome), follow the steps below.
  1. Restart your Mac holding down the shift key... that boots it into Safe Mode.
  2. Once it's up and running, open Safari... chances are, you may have downloaded and installed software that installed browser re-direct software.
  3. Download Firefox (if you don't already have it) and install it. It won't be needed, but this is for future issues if the same issue happens again.
  4. Google "Adware Medic", download and install the software. This app is a virus-free AppleScript that looks for browser re-direct software on your system.
  5. Run the software and delete what it finds. You'll then be prompted to restart your computer.
  6. Once restarted, open Safari. You're issue should have been resolved.
I hope this info helps!

Fix ya com

Hi, When you say you've used Disk Utility, have you done both Repair Permissions, and Repair Disk? For Repair Disk you need t boot from a different drive, the original install DVD if you have it? Another thing to try is, remove and and then replace the RAM chips, sometimes the connections need to be re-seated. Thanks, John

How do I get my iMac to double as a monitor for my laptop?

Hi Mark, You can't use an iMac as a 'monitor'. But you could use Apple's screen sharing. On the MBP, go to System Preferences -> Sharing, and check the box for Screen Sharing. Now, on the iMac, in Finder select the MBP and then click the Screen Sharing button. You can now work with your MBP on the iMac. I do this a lot, you can even run the MBP in a 'Space' at full screen. Thanks, John
